DannyelBrazil Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 http://www.youtube.c...h?v=qPqwlgqO_x0 20th Century Fox (Ice Age) has released the trailer for the upcoming 3D animated movie "Rio," voiced by Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway and George Lopez. Check it out below.Plot: Set in the magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the comedy-adventure centers on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there's another — and that she's a she — he leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio. But it's far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight-challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about friendship, love, courage, and being open to life's many wonders. "Rio" brings together a menagerie of vivid characters, a heart-warming story, colorful backdrops, energizing Latin and contemporary music, and family-friendly song and dance. The new movie is directed by Carlos Saldanha (Ice Age, Robots) and is scheduled to hit 3D and 2D theaters on April 8th, 2011.---I almost cry with the trailer... Just amazing to see Rio in 3D!!!PS: <<<comment deleted by me, whatever>>>
Sir Rols Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Fun trailer. I did laugh! Loved the watermelons and big butts on Copacabana! And the music.
DannyelBrazil Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 Fun trailer. I did laugh! Loved the watermelons and big butts on Copacabana! And the music. It's good to see that Rio got other international projection... Very very good... Well, the director is Brazilian, but, anyway, he convinced 20th Century Fox to pay the movie.
amorincognito Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 of course what is a movie about Brazil without Mais Que Nada.... very cute !
baron-pierreIV Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. This plot point is the same as Manny the woolly mammoth (Ray Romano) in Ice Age 2. He too thought he was the last of his kind until he met Ellie, the female woolly who thought she was a possum. Of course, Saldanha worked on Ice Age. Can't they come up with anything new and original?
Texas Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 George Lopez voicing a character....not a good sign. Hell, George Lopez doing movies isn't a good sign.
Jacques Rogge Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I think Brazil is reliving its golden years (1940s and 1950s). Its economy is one of the fastest growing in the world again, the country is again hosting the World Cup and now the Olympics... And large animation studios are back! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mQHr8bAojU

American regular plot: First the main character a loser, with a sad life Then he/she/it win some challenges, gain some respect So the character have a big disappointment (generally caused by a mistake made by someone he/she/it loves/admire/respects) The main character should fight the toughest challenges to gain it back and always reaches the happy end! It's the same receipt ever, but, we can admit: world buys it and seems to love it...
Dinhu4ever Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Anne Hathaway + Neil Patrick Harris + Rio de Janeiro = The macaw's design reminds me a lot of Articuno, though.

Well, having taken some screen/playwriting courses (and written 3 screenplays), it's such a thing called the 'dramatic arc.' It is the journey that the lead character(s) takes and which must be prepped so that the spectator can go along for the ride--after all, that is why you are paying the admission for. You need someone to root for.

Sir Rols Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Well, the old saying is there really is only a handful of original plots: love thwarted, love conquers all, paradise lost, overcoming the challenge, pride before the fall, defying fate, finding inner strength or beauty.
Jacques Rogge Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 That toucan could be the mascot of the Rio Olympics. Cheaper for Rio OCOG being already popular. Well, I don't think so... At least an Olympic mascot who speaks [more than Sarajevoooooooooooow].

Literally, those mascot makes no senses!!! LOL

LOL But they giggle! And they're clumsy! And they are apparently made of metal! Which is a rather odd choice to use as the basis for a plushie, but I digress.
OneTimeOnly Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 LOL Mas Que Nada. I wonder if they were using the Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 version. It sure sounded like it.
DannyelBrazil Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 the soundtrack of this movie probably will be great
Victor Mata Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 The danger of the cliché... I'll avoid liking it before I watch this movie.
