Brekkie Boy 73
I'm assuming the outdoor cauldron has been lit again, but seen nothing of it. Is it in the same construction as for the Olympics, or like the indoor cauldron have the 4 arms been removed?
memorabilia 80
I'm assuming the outdoor cauldron has been lit again, but seen nothing of it. Is it in the same construction as for the Olympics, or like the indoor cauldron have the 4 arms been removed? Yes ut has been lit (but no one knows really how !!!) & No this is exactly the same, as it will stay here as a memorial legacy of the games... SkiFreak 123
Yes ut has been lit (but no one knows really how !!!) & No this is exactly the same, as it will stay here as a memorial legacy of the games... I'm guessing they're going to re-light it on special occasions, like 10th anniversary of the games, etc. They do it in Calgary. The small cauldron at the Oval at UofC gets lit every year for grad ceremonies. During other winter games they sometimes re-light the cauldrons as well. I'm hoping they fire it up during the Sochi games.
Brekkie Boy 73
Would that be what the people of Vancouver want though? It's a good idea to relight cauldrons during future Olympic games - but that's assuming you have a nice cauldron. If this was in my hometown I think I'd want it demolished ASAP. NY20?? 98
Most average people don't really care that much about a cauldron's design unless its extremely, extremely bad which is not the case judging from the crowds of people who wanted to take a picture of it during the Games.
