Vancouver 2010: The New Paralympic standard

Recommended Posts

Looks like Vancouver 2010 Paralympics could turn out to be the most widely-viewed and supported Paralympics ever!

From the Globe and Mail March 12, 2010:

While not quite Olympics Redux, the first Paralympics to be staged in Canada seem certain to set a new standard for these Winter Games with a difference.

After a 12-day breather from the global spotlight, cavernous BC Place is sold out for Friday's gala opening ceremonies, ticket sales to other events have never been higher for a Paralympic Winter Games, crowds are beginning to return to the streets of Vancouver and there will be a record amount of TV coverage.

"crowds are returning in the street"... apparently we are not living in the same Vancouver ! Except to go and to return to BC place this evening, the street are as usually quiet !!! Nothing to compare with the days before the Olympics !

But it absolutely sure that in term of organisation the games would be the best ever.

The venues are excellent, and ticketing went well downtown Vancouver thanks to the Hockey & Curling... apparently not the same level in Whistler...
