Citius Altius Fortius Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Hi Pillan, I wonder why you didn't start a swedish house here on GB - I suppose Roland will visit this place, too And I am absolutely a fan of Sweden (maybe that is a result that I had the honour to see Astrid Lindgren when I was a child - the german print house of Astrid Lindgren is close to my parents hous) 1
Pillan Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I must have missed something... So this is a thread to discuss everything about Sweden in Vancouver, I'm right? So far this is going to be a great Winter games for Sweden. Not that great as Torino 2006 of course but still great. Except Torino Sweden never had more than 4 golds in a Olympic. Now we have 4 golds and that's our second best results in winter games. I'm most happy for the gold in men's 4x10km relay. It was 22 years ago Sweden took gold in this event latest. This result also show Sweden is back on track in cross-country.
Citius Altius Fortius Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 yes, I agree Sweden is doing well in Vancouver (altough I think a star comparable to Gunde Svan is in a way missing)
Sir Rols Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 A nice solid result for Team Sverige in Vancouver. Would have hoped for more in the ice hockey, perhaps, but not a performance to be snezed at ... And there's still the men's Curling semi later today. Go Sverige!
Sir Rols Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Great Gold for Sweden in Curling! Proud of You Girls! Congratulations Gold, Women's Curling, Sweden Fantastiskt!

Actually,I think you will find that curling's home country is Scotland.Scots introduced the game to many other countries including Canada and Sweden! However Canadians and Swedes are now much better at playing it.Congrats to the Swedish ladies!! Curling

They said Canada is curling's homecountry and I listened to them. The sad thing is that one of the commentators is a former player in curling. But still it's big to beat Canada on their homeice. Congrats girls!

Congrats girls! Well, Curling might have been born in Scotland but it moved to Canada a couple of decades ago Anyway, the result of the match wasn't what I wanted, but still, what a match. Congratulation to the Swedes, beating Canada on home soil isn't exactly easy, and congratulation to the Canadian team for the excellent tournament overall, and also there excellent tournament at the trials. Not to mention China, who get Asia's first ever Curling medal. Well, entering those Olympics we never had anyone that won two gold medals in Curling, now we have four. Wonder if the same four will be back in four years.
Pillan Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Bronze to André Myhrer in Men's slalom. Congratulations!
