Aronious
The Netherlands - Australia ended in a disappointing 1-1 this afternoon. We didn't play well but still should have scored at least three goals. However, Schwarzer had a very good game and Australia capitalized one of their two chances.Brazil's superstars might have to watch out. Those Ozzies kick at everything that moves (excluding the ball that is), seemingly seriously injuring 3 of our players. It was lucky not to be 2-0 very early after the ref missed a handball inside the area. None the less, I almost crapped myself when Viduka’s aerial was blocked. After that performance Mark Schwarzer could be rated as one of the best keepers in the world. Like WOW!. 6 or 7 certain goals saved. Quintana, I think you will find that all those injuries will pose no threat to the Dutch build-up. Only one was blatant and the rest were really very, very soft by the Dutch. Expect most to train tomorrow! A good effort without Kewell and an uncertain Cahill. Although disappointing for the Dutch, great news for the Socceroos’s showing that we can swing will the high rolling football nations (Netherlands Ranking 3rd.) HIDDINK HIDDINK HIDDINK!!! OI OI OI. Durban Sandshark
New Zealand lost to brazil 4-0,New Zealand lost to brazil 4-0, What did you expect from the All-Whites then against the Samba Kings (aka the Selecao) in Geneva, considering NZ hasn't qualified for a World Cup since 1982 and come from a weak region (Oceania)? I like to see the All-Whites make it to South Africa next time, as I would for Canada but they need to really get to play against some strong competition for the next several years on a consistant basis. mr.x
My school is going overboard because of the World Cup, especially since this is the last day of school until exams. The auditorium was open all-day and we had the projector on showing the games, the school tv monitors (in hallways) also switched from displaying announcements to the games all day, the library's two LCD tvs were also on, and teachers let their students skip class to watch the games. Wow, I honestly didn't know that football (or do you also call it "soccer"?) is so popular in Canada. Why doesn't it have a better team then? Isn't there enough new blood when this sport is so popular?

Isn't there enough new blood when this sport is so popular? Well it also had to do with that this was the last day of school and students had to teacher or nothing better to do but to let their students to anything they want. I've never ever seen so many people in the library.....ever.....must be like 90 people in all at once, chairs in hallways around the tv monitors, and hundreds and hundreds of students in the auditorium. Even when school ended, many still stayed to watch on big-screen tv. ^.....similar to the IIHF 2006 World Junior Hockey Championship and the 2006 Olympics mens hockey games, but to a lesser extent since this was in January and February when teachers were teaching curriculum. perhaps there is enough blood.......by far, "soccer" is the most played sports among Canadian youth. There are many many many more soccer players and soccer teams in Canada than hockey players and hockey teams.
Quintana
All of them? Why not just Switzerland? Why doesn't it have a better team then? Isn't there enough new blood when this sport is so popular? I honestly think that the Canadian talent scouting have done a poor job. I know were not one of the best football nations but we sure do have the talent out there to be ranked higher in the future than our current FIFA World Ranking. Our Women's Team has shown improvement and promise. We placed fourth at the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup. The Men's side just keeps on disappointing. Ahmet
He is still shocked by Finland's landslide Eurovision victory and now hates every Northern European country 'cause one of them ruined the one thing he really cares about Ummmm think again jerk... it has nothing to do with that contest at all actually and neither do I have anything against Finland as a nation; in fact, I believe that I've congratulate their victory some weeks ago. Just because your life revolves around international events here it doesn't mean that eveyone else's will with respect to the other competitions. Perhaps I should have been speific right off from the start but no one could have possibly cared... no? Now why don't you go abouts doing what you're best known for here by glofiying your nation some more and providing us with some more up to the minute facts regarding the Dutch team as if anyone else here gave a rat's as.s about it. arwebb
Last time we played Paraguay, we beat them 4-0. It should be a tougher test today, but I'm confident we've got enough to beat them. I'm looking forward more to the Argentina v Ivory Coast game tonight, though.
