What does the special group means? Serbia will play in the Brazilian, Mexican or Argentinian group. Indeed. It's to prevent any group having three European teams in it. They're probably the unluckiest team of the lot and will be hoping for that 33% chance that they are in Mexico's group and not the other two!
Stu 33
There certainly is the prospect of some groups that will be difficult to predict the outcome, imagine an Italy, Holland, South Korea, Paraguay group!

Stu 33
I'd love England, Poland - have two teams ever played each other so much, we always seem to be in the same qualifying groups.
Belgium 0
it would be nice to have Brazil, Angola and Portugal in the same group : 3 countries with the same language
Belgium 0
it's very likely that Serbia and Montenegro will be drawn in the group 'Mexico'. Costa Rica, Trinidad and T. and the USA won't be drawn with Mexico because they are all concacaf countries. So Mexico will get an Asian country or Serbia and M.
Eruedan 0
I thought once the "pots" are decided its random - so any of the teams can be drawn even if they are both CONCACAF or CONMEBOL countries. Eg. Mexico and USA. I just did a draw completely at random and here is what i got... and out of my completely random draw who I think would go through to the 2nd round. BRAZIL, Paraguay, Croatia, Iran > Brazil & Croatia ENGLAND, Togo, Ukraine, Japan > England & Japan SPAIN, Angola, Portugal, Costa Rica > Spain & Portugal GERMANY, Ghana, Switzerland, South Korea > Germany & Switzerland MEXICO, Ecuador, Sweden, Serbia & Montenegro > Mexico & Sweden FRANCE, Australia, Poland, Trinidad & Tobago > France & Australia ARGENTINA, Tunisia, Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia > Argentina & Czech Rep. ITALY, Ivory Coast, Netherlands, USA > Italy & Netherlands
