gotosy
The Innsbruck 2012 Organising Committee for the first Winter Youth Olympic Games (Innsbruck 2012) today launched its new emblem at a Youth Olympic Games Night at Austria House in Whistler, Canada. The new emblem reads “Innsbruck 2012” and, as a key component, the IOC’s brand identity for the Youth Olympic Games “YOG-DNA” has been integrated for the first time. In harmony with Innsbruck 2012, “YOG-DNA” is a striking label targeted at young people and is the representation of their attitudes, freedoms and creativity. It also contains the Olympic rings, signifying the values of excellence, friendship and respect. A youthful and vibrant city The design of the emblem reflects the vibrant, youthful city in the heart of the Alps combined with its traditional and natural way of life. The city’s name, “Innsbruck”, refers to its founding close to the bridge over the River Inn. Innsbruck relates this to its legacy as past Olympic Games hosts in 1964 and 1976 and the journey to the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2012. The Golden Roof, the most famous sight in Innsbruck, is an essential, unique part of the Innsbruck 2012 emblem. It symbolises the well-known hospitality of the Tyroleans, and the golden colour represents excellence in sports and cultural events. IOC

Ikarus360
Well, at least it fits perfectly with the YOG DNA thing they will be doing with the Youth olympics brand. Quite balanced IMO
Rob2012
It somehow contrives to be both bland and too busy at the same time. Really, there's nothing I like about this.

Sir Rols
Well, at least it fits perfectly with the YOG DNA thing they will be doing with the Youth olympics brand. Quite balanced IMO And that's a good thing??? YOG DNA is as ugly as in its own right anyway. As to the logo itself. I didn't think I'd expect anything to make Sochi's look better. Congrats Innsbruck, you did it!
NY20??
I'm always hesitant to completely write-off any Olympic logo as pure laziness on the part of the designers no matter how much I don't like the final result. BUT...They were lazy with one.
demetrius
This is not very inspired Too anonymous. It seems to me that the Olympic logos are worse and worse these days...
Sir Rols
Okay, someone's gotta say it. Isn't it more evocative of an Asian pagoda (Kyoto's Golden Pavilion?) than a European Alps region games?
Victor Mata
Oh God... The next one to be launched is Rio's. If they follow the trend, our logo will be: . Rio 2016 "Our logo is a dot. It stands for unity and the singularity that created the Universe. Our goal is to create a ridiculously clean brand that fits absolutely everything and is truly representative of the olympic ideals of uniting the whole world in a single location, in this case, Rio de Janeiro. (oops, here's our logo again at the end of the previous sentence! Isn't magical how it fits every place and situation?)

Dinhu4ever
The design of the emblem reflects the vibrant, youthful city in the heart of the Alps combined with its traditional and natural way of life And how exactly does a golden trapezoid over the city can convey all that?
