zenica Posted April 23, 2006 Author Report Posted April 23, 2006 It´s not my wish but I´m pretty sure EU will take their fingers into sport as in all other social live areas. One day ... This is for Europe only, of couse.
arwebb Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 So are you now coming round to the Euro-sceptic way of thinking? If so, why simply accept it. Surely, your Platini campaign means you are known in powerful circles so you can fight the Brussels baloney!
zenica Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 i´m not euro-sceptic but i´m pretty sure these laws or reglementations will come for future big sport events.
arwebb Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 You say you're not Euro-sceptic and yet you don't like what the EU is doing. So what are you then? Confused, I guess.
zenica Posted May 6, 2006 Author Report Posted May 6, 2006 I´m not against everything EU is doing. It might be a good idea to supervise the big events like WorldCups or EuroCups by an international organisation like EU.
Sir Rols Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 But why _ there are already international organisations to do all that. Don't you think FIFA and even UEFA know more about what is needed to organise a big tournament than the EU does? What purpose does adding an extra level of bureaucracy to an already difficult organising task achieve?
Sir Rols Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 Seriously, Zenica. Let's debate this (and let's have some thought out details rather than just a line of sloganry). Tell us exactly what benefits you feel the EU being involved would bring to the organisation of major tournaments. It's not as if the US or canada need NAFTA or NATO or Australia needs ASEAN or APAC to organise any tournaments they hold, so why would European events be any different?
zenica Posted May 20, 2006 Author Report Posted May 20, 2006 UEFA now is doing a campaign against rassism and want the support of EU. This should be a good way to bring the campaign into all big and also small sport events in Europe.

Well, that's hardly a major contribution to the organisation of big events _ more a "feel good" gesture.
arwebb Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 It would help UEFA no end if they actually followed up all their fine words with some form of meaningful action. We haven't seen anything like that for years (unless it was against the English), and I don't expect them to start any time soon.
