The athletes!

The placards look a little bit camp, but the uniforms of the placard bearers are simple and OK.

And some new composition obviously as musical accompaniment of the parade -- unlike Torino's "Hey, we take our 'Best of the 70s and 80s" CDs out of the cupboard and there you go". ;)

The athletes seem to be very early! They usually enter nearer the end don't they?

No for winter ceremonies it's usual to have them at the beginning...

This thing about early athletes entrance remind me a little Rio 2007, when the athletes entered early and seated in the stadium to watch the ceremony...

A little bit Rio 2007, uh?

Awesome first segments nations :D altough my only complaint is that it was somewhat long. The flag projections over the crowd were stunning as well

Now the parade of nations. The parade music, so far, kicks Torino and Beijing arses. The placards are simple but elegant, nice balance c:

lol - the light blue argentinian flag is nearly invisible with that light blue background

Maybe because Argentina is disappearing in the geopolitics... LOL

Why is there a huge section of empty seats?

that's for the athletes

According to SporTV athletes will seat there, like Rio 2007 Opening ceremony, to watch the show.

I couldn't believe when the brazlian squad entered the Stadium Communale in 2006 with Michael Jackson and right before "I will survive". Definetly they should have picked some better DJ.
