Ikarus360 Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Ok i'm kinda scared right now because of lack of interest by the media here in south america for the winter olympics, and i'm afraid the national TV will not show the ceremonies this time (altough they did a great coverage of Beijing). Anyway, i'm looking for help about the issue D: . If someone can give me some links to streaming sites to watch the olympics online, i would be eternaly grateful, and i hope this can also help other people with similar troubles.
4seasonscentre Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 ^ Where are you from? Broadcasters are only allowed to stream live video within the country that they own the broadcast rights to.
mr.x Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Tell them Vancouver is hosting the Summer Games... Hopefully it works out for you, but most likely your internet coverage will be blocked.
Ikarus360 Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 ^ Where are you from? Broadcasters are only allowed to stream live video within the country that they own the broadcast rights to. Venezuela. And yeah, i noticed CTV didnt let me get on the stream site because of my location.
Lee Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) You should be OK with Justin TV Edited February 11, 2010 by Lee
Ikarus360 Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 You should be OK with Justin TV Really? i've been testing the site and its pretty good, the videos doesnt freeze or anything. But is Justin TV going to show live videos of Vancouver? D:
KRATK Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I have the same problem here in Chile... and it did happen in Torino 2006. I couldn't watch the Opening because no TV channel broadcasted. I've seen that ESPN will broadcast the Games but I don't know if they will broadcast the ceremonies. I'm so upset with Chile sending just three athletes, so the channels not broadcasting the ceremonies would be the icing of the cake
Rafa Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Starting to worry. Not sure the ceremony is being broadcasted in South Africa.

They have a slot from 11pm to 2am. Isn't that the time in Chilen when the OC is taking place?
polarbear Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 You should be OK with Justin TV For hockey and curling anyway. But according to some news articles, NBC is threatening to yank Justin.tv for other sports. Here's one news story about NBC v Justin.tv, but there's quite a few stories out there--> http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/olympics/2011023126_olycanadiantv09.html NBC should provide their own streaming if they're going to try and stop everyone else from doing it!

jawnbc Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 My understanding is that when you visit vancouver2010.com it will use your IP address to offer a live stream directly on the splash page.
olympian Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 try UStream as well. and http://www.atdhe.net/watchtv.html
Mr Tickle Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 We have it on the BBC its the full show but starts at half one or something. Its repeated tommorrow at midday but its only an edited show at 1 hour, so no sleep for me tonight LOL. It may be on the BBC iplayer too, not sure
Rob2012 Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 (edited) Was about to ask that exact question. I hope it is on iPlayer because I won't be around to watch it live and won't be around for the highlights show either, sadly. EDIT: Once again you're shaming London 2012's branding dept with your sig Dave. Nice work! Edited February 12, 2010 by RobH
christos Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 EBU will broadcast live the Games from this website http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/olympics/ But I don't know if it is available only for Europe.
KRATK Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Terra.com.ve is supposed to have the rights of online broadcasting in Latin America. And also, ESPN+ will have the live broadcast at least in Chile...
GeeCee Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Yes, it'll be on CTV. http://www.ctvolympics.ca/ has stated over the past week or so that their webstream would be worldwide, so you might be able to access it there.
Tatsh Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 christos, the link it's only for Europe
