Westfale
World belongs to teh younger ones and not to the old powerless ones. Beckenbauer is powerless? Really? ???
arwebb
There is not a big difference between a 50 year old and a 75 year old but between a 25 year old and a 50 year old. Someone with 50 has surely enough experience. World belongs to teh younger ones and not to the old powerless ones. We know how the match runs. Just because of what your birth certificate says does not suddenly mean you forego any right to make some kind of positive contribution to this planet. Quit with this ageism. zenica
Both candidates have their merits to do the job. Let´s see whom UEFA will choose. The one of them only want this position the other one takes every job he can get. This has also to do with egoism.
zenica
Next Friday during the drawing for EC 2008 in Montreux there will be a good chance for Platini to present his candidature for UEFA presidency for next year. All members of UEFA executive committee will be there who will decide for presidency next year.
arwebb
Somehow I don't think that will go down particularly well.
zenica
I think it´s important for a potential candidate for UEFA presidency to be present in a such important event like EC drawing 2008. In 2007 there are the elections and this is the right time and the right place to start.
arwebb
A year is a long time to have to campaign. Perhaps Platini would be better off waiting until next year to start his bid otherwise he'll run out of steam.
zenica
a campaign like this he surely needs a year not only a few monthes. It´s not an election for a village mayor it´s for UEFA presidency. So everything has to fit and be prepared well. The only way for Platini to get the job. arwebb
Surely he needs to ensure he can campaign right to the end and not start too early. Anyway, why am I giving campaign advice for a man who I don't think should be anywhere near any position of power?
zenica
In his campaign for UEFA presidency he praised the stadiums in Germany for WC 2008, together with the other candidate for presidency, Franz Beckenbauer.

Sir Rols
When is this bloody election for the new UEFA head. I hope it's soon, or otherwise we're going to have a LONG time of it with Zenica posting pics of Platini whenever he does something _ or even doesn't do anything. I get it _ I know what the guy looks like _ even if he gets new haircuts every fortnight, I don't think he'd change too much between photos. zenica
Do you think this old man is the better choice for presidency instead of a younger one with more power?
arwebb
This really is pathetic. Why don't you just nail your colours to the mast as Platini's campaign manager and have done with it?
zenica
when I will get the job - why not? I´m pretty sure we could find a good solution
arwebb
He certainly should be paying you given your incessant utterances here. I'll give you that - you're persistant.
zenica
You have to be persistent to reach something in your live. Without a great will nothing goes. This should be the same in case Platini.
Sir Rols
As if a persistent love letter thread in an internet forum is going to make any difference at all to the campaign!
