Alexjc Posted November 19, 2005 Report Share Posted November 19, 2005 Developments that are ready to go - Jade Stadium will start construction of the new Eastern stand in 2007, it will incorporate a sports hotel and restaurants. Eden Park will finally get it's $120m makeover which will see the South stand and Panasonic stand demolished and an all round stand to meet up with the ASB stand built. The Western terrace stand will have a temporary upper deck added, thus taking pax up to 60-65k for 2011. Still in doubt - Carisbrook is likley to be a sluggish start as narrow minded southern attitudes towards spending money have already begun to bite. Still three years away from a beginning. Waikato the HCC is going to have a tough time convincing Hamilton ratepayers that the old main stand needs to go and mirror the new main stand with extra corporate seating as well. The city is already carrying a large debt for the ground as well as Seddon Park (cricket). Apart from the five main grounds, there are nine other grounds that have the chance to host, mainly due to lights as most games will be played to catch the European breakfast TV time slots.
