thatsnotmypuppy Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Despite some questionable voting irregularities on both sides I give you the winner - Congratulations Danny and thank you for a most imaginative, well run contest! I hereby resign officially from running the GB Olympic/CG Competitions and hand the reigns over to the next generation! THANK YOU ALL
DannyelBrazil Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Thank you TNMP for the words. And thank you to all gamesbids users and other friends that voted on my proposal. I'd like to thank to all 23 DIFFERENT PEOPLE (I hope) that voted on my logo. (Unless something I don't understand is happening here against me or against somebody else - lot of newbies on GB last days). Special thanks for those friends and people that like my job. You were so important.
DannyelBrazil Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Indeed, it's the first time for South American winning a GB forums comp...
Scotguy Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Well done Danny and well done TNMP for another great contest. The next comp, should be done in the new year, give everyone a break for the festive season, in my opinion
baron-pierreIV Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 The Toothpaste logo!! I want a stadium contest next!! I will SURELY Enter!!
Faster Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Irregular would be one word for it! Someone has issues.
DannyelBrazil Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Irregular would be one word for it! Silly baby boy....
DannyelBrazil Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 The Toothpaste logo!!I want a stadium contest next!! I will SURELY Enter!! I'm excited about a stadium comp. But, with votes written in thread, no more secret-fake-newbies-war-ballot. The votes should be allowed only for those who made 100+ posts here or something similar.
Sir Rols Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Indeed, it's the first time for South American winning a GB forums comp... I'm not sure about that. I think a Kratk Santiago Winter Games Bid has won a contest before!
DannyelBrazil Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 I'm not sure about that. I think a Kratk Santiago Winter Games Bid has won a contest before! Good news then!
747 Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Silly baby boy.... Recent events at Galeao International I presume.
Aronious Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 How about a Youth Olympic Games bid? Would get huge number of new bidding cities because so many cities are capable. Minneapolis for example.
Citius Altius Fortius Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 scotguy was keen to host the next competition and he proposed it for next year
DannyelBrazil Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Recent events at Galeao International I presume. As usual, disgusting.
Scotguy Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 scotguy was keen to host the next competition and he proposed it for next year I'm just very busy over the festive season and thought a lot of you guys might be too, i have no objection if someone decides to do a mini comp if they have time, but i would propose organising a bigger one at the start of the year.
DannyelBrazil Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I like the idea of the stadium comp...
fatixxx Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 I am not pleased with the outcome of this comp .. I did my very very best and lost in both comps .. I don't have the needed lobby here, nor I have did the time to push or start new newbies so that thay could vote for me. This is a really big and common problem here on GB There hast to be transparant en rooted rules to maka an end with those fake vote/rs I will try to do my best to compete in every competition. I am a participant who played always cristalclear and will always will as it should be. But please this give neither happiness to me as it should neither give to the winners as well. I feel myself as an ugly duck here ..   Perhaps if I do my best to continue I will win somewhere in 2050 or Never .. !! People we are fake-ing ourselves .. A lot of people outside GB and beyond are reading and interpreting what we do here .. this isn't giving us the sincere and proper look. We have to be aware that if we make a " decent mechanism, system voting ". We have be clever in that sense so that we will be considderd as serious members of a qualitative olympics-website .. This can be our first and last shot, because of the fact who knows how long we will live .. the rooted and experienced members have to create a committee here on GB and have to work on this issue for the generations to come. What else will be left, what else can we give/make as legacy Best regards fatih civelek
wingspread Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 To be honest, fatix, your entries weren't good enough to win to start with (for me, at least). So there's no need to use that I-was-cheated-of-a-win card. Moving forward, I think we should go back to the individual post/vote system instead of anonymous polls and e-mail election.

stir.ts Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 There hast to be transparant en rooted rules to maka an end with those fake vote/rs Hey you did a fantastic job, I loved your Winter logo best! My winter logo didn't make the cut (even though I thought it was pretty cool-no pun intended) Your posts were fun to read and always in a great spirit, I always looked forward to your posts!

So there's no need to use that I-was-cheated-of-a-win card. i really have to agree. the sochi logo was by far the better of the two entries and even that wasn't nearly as striking as the vibrant, polished eventual winner. i mean, there's only so much you can do with three lines in a 2-d logo contest. now, if in some distant future when digital technology enables animated, moving logos to replace stationary ones, then yours would pack quite a punch, as evidenced by that excellent youtube video. but you needed the video to really experience the full logo and that was a very secondary part of this competition. so, three little panels that look like the russian flag with a few lackluster snowflakes? uninspired and generic. it said winter and it said russia, but it didn't say anything else except b-o-r-i-n-g. ::cry cry cry::

thatsnotmypuppy Posted December 22, 2009 Author Report Posted December 22, 2009 I agree the Sochi logo was great when animated and used as sporting 'pictograms'. However as a stand alone logo - very early 80's. Good - but the best Sochi logo won. As for Rio.... well... the calibre was extremely high.
