Hi dear GB Members.

About 1 month ago olympic.org began a Medal Design Competition.

This is the very first public medal competition by the Olympic Committee for the first YOG in Singapore 2010

Today the deadline to send designs will be closed and tommorow all the designs will be placed in a gallery.

All people around the world can vote for the best one and these votes will deside the winning design.

For the winner there is a VIP-package, includes; Tickets for two to Singapore at the first YOG, and a replica of the medal at the opening ceremony.

For further details you can click on the link above.

I submitted also a Design, as the rule says in Gold, Silver and Bronze.

I also made a video about my design with the same background music as for the Sochi 2014 Gb Logo-comp!

This could be moved to the Singapore 2010 forum, no?

Anyways, I've checked all submissions and, to be honest, very few are worthy of being eternalized as the first Youth Olympics medals.

Some were rather basic and childish to begin with, others were too ceremonial and complicated for what should be a Youth Games, others included specific symbols/people that should not be present in an Olympic medal... But there was even a design that included the Olympic sports pictograms that I created for Wikipedia use. :D

My vote went to "Star Shine", but I also liked "Smiles for the Youth", "Life's Journey" and "Superstar".
