skicross
We already had to put up with the reign of Shumi, it time for Alonso's one. GO ALONSO!!!
arwebb
True, but I do like to see competition.
skicross
This year there is more competition, but we all now that the only competitoin that we can see this year is among Alonso, Schumi and Kimi. Massa, Fisichela and Montoya are in a lower level than the "three big".
arwebb
No more competition than last year, as far as I can see. As the F1 bandwagon rolls into Montreal for Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, Bernie Ecclestone is talking tough over the future of the American race. Ecclestone digs in over US deal I reckon he needs to be a wee bit careful. It's not as though F1 made many friends in the US last year, is it? arwebb
Another Alonso pole in Canada. Alonso takes pole for Canadian GP Is it just me, or is this starting to get a tad tedious?
Mikel
Another Alonso pole in Canada.Alonso takes pole for Canadian GP Is it just me, or is this starting to get a tad tedious? Michael Schumacher was tedious during the last 7 years... now the sovereignty of Alonso has arrived. Bye Schumi!
arwebb
I don't care who wins. It can even be Schumacher. I just want to see some real competition, and I'm not sure we're getting that at the moment.
arwebb
Well, well, well, a Ferrari one-two in Indianapolis and now an all Ferrari front row in France. Do we have a shift in the power balance, perhaps?
arwebb
And Schumacher wins in France. Do we have a title race now?

arwebb
I'm not so sure. Alonso hasn't been able to get near Schumacher in the last two races. He's still a warm favourite, but quite clearly he's not going to be able to run away with it now.
arwebb
Getting worried yet, Mikel? Alonso starting seventh on the grid at Hockenheim and having a pop at Schumacher over a pitlane incident, I see. Are we seeing Alonso getting rattled, perhaps? arwebb
Any Alonso fan has to be worried now. Not only has Schumacher now cut the gap to 11 points after winning in Germany today, but the Ferrari is now, quite clearly, the best car out there. Renault and Alonso have problems, and not a lot of time to sort them out.
arwebb
One Jenson Button, there's only one Jenson Button. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rob2012
I'm soooo happy with that result! The best race I've seen for years and a well earneed victory for Jenson. I never thought I'd be nervous watching F1 but I felt horrible with 15 laps to go. Well done Button - nice to hear the British national anthem again! arwebb
Some might say that all the big names didn't finish today as if this is a problem, forgetting the old saying 'To finish first, first you must finish'. They may also forget that before Alonso retired, Button was closing on him at a rate of around two seconds per lap and Schumacher never got close to him. Button won that race because he was the best driver out there. Simple as that.
Rob2012
Indeed. And don't forget he had that 10 place penalty to overcome as well. He didn't let the bad luck affect him, and took the good luck when it came to him. That's what the best sportsmen do. I'm really pleased for him. arwebb
Quite so. How far could he have won by if he hadn't had that penalty?
Infinite_Olympics
The Hungarian Grand Prix was an exciting race. Rain causing all of the tire "drama," the crashes, no Alonso and Shumacher finishes, and more. Just great stuff--and an underdog winner to boot. Now, if we can just get one of those Super Aguris on the podium, or Scott Speed.
Westfale
Hooray! The most overrated driver in F1 history has finally won his first GP. Well done. Congratulaions. Lee
I've never enjoyed F1, it has always struck me as a very unfair sport. I agree with Goethe, although it is still nice to see a British win in any sport.
Rob2012
The thing is with Button is his driving style is as good as anyone's - he's Mr reliable. Button doesn't do spin-offs and spectacular crashes, but the trouble is, he doesn't (until now) do wins either. I think that has more to do with his car than his driving ability though. When Button retires from a race it's always from a blown engine or a mechanical probelm and never from driver error. If he gets a more reliable car, he could be a contender. The most overrated driver in F1 history?! He's not even the most overrated driver on the grid! For me, Shumi's little brother takes that accolade.
