baron-pierreIV Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 my final designcalled "Footprint of Legacy" Very pointillist. Did you get Seurat's clearance? P.S. Footprint theme was already used in Beijing, remember?
Lord David Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Introducing the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games Logo. The design recalls the glories of Faberge Art and is a recurring theme in the games, particularly in the architectural style of the Olympic venues. The flag of Russia, slightly waved, forms the background of the Faberge tile pattern. Minimalism is the key in providing a logo which is easily identifiable and stands out on it's own. Hope you like it.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted November 8, 2009 Author Report Posted November 8, 2009 We'll ask for a Paralympic logo in phase 2 - happy Baron? Great work guys!
cube Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Very pointillist. Did you get Seurat's clearance? P.S. Footprint theme was already used in Beijing, remember? really? or are you talking about the fireworks footprint walking to the stadium right before the opening ceremony?
thatsnotmypuppy Posted November 8, 2009 Author Report Posted November 8, 2009 The fireworks were the only use of footprints in Beijing. The Olympic look and logo had nothing foot-like about them.
Citius Altius Fortius Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 TNMP, are we allowed to enter several logo proposals?
baron-pierreIV Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 really?or are you talking about the fireworks footprint walking to the stadium right before the opening ceremony? Well, plus the athletes had to walk on that huge mat with the colored chalk dust that the children 'wrote upon' upon earlier in the ceremony...to "record their 'footsteps" as a token in participating in the Games. The mat was supposedly going to be taken into space in the next Chinese space flight.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted November 8, 2009 Author Report Posted November 8, 2009 Next week (BRazilians dependent) and CAF you can enter as many as you want.
DannyelBrazil Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 it symboliza a footprint in the sand of copacabana and also the legacy the olympics will give to Rio and entire Brazil I like the idea! Congrats, good logo!
Sir Rols Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Yeah, I gotta say I like the original footprint in the sand one more than some of its later versions.

Sir Rols Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 I wasn't going to enter, but here goes: The colours are the colours of Brazil, and also represent: Green for the lush greenery and environment of Brazil, Yellow for the sunshine and beaches of its coasts, and Blue for the Seas and coast of the city. The figure is performing capoeira, signifying joy and grace in sport and the fusing of sport and dance/art. Clip-art (the palm fronds) and photo-silhouettes used.
DannyelBrazil Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Roltel, I liked the logo, but for a moment I thought it was a guy making mess during a surf session... LOL But loved the colors. =]
stir.ts Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Submission for the 2016 games in Rio. All the colors of the Brazilian flag are represented. THE SUN The sun represents the universality of the games and commonalities of the human experience, as well as the singularity of the first South American Games. THE ICONIC MOSAIC SIDEWALK OF COPACABANA Direct representation of the iconic sidewalks of Copacabana. The green wave represents the iconic topography and forest of Rio de Janeiro. The lighter blue wave represents the ocean and beaches lining the city. The deeper blue wave represents the deep and constant passion of the Cariocas. The mosaic pieces of the waves represent the athletes of the world. The undulation of the waves represents the athletes' struggles and triumphs, valleys and peak; this path ends in a higher place than it began.
fatixxx Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 @ stir the soul, Very good argumentary about the significant explanation of your logo. * Now I will explain mine. - The first discription is about the organisational, human and nature values - The second discription goes about the litteral one. * Fluently black coloured line : - Creating of clearness about the certainty of a flawless organisation for the games. - It symbolises the topographical skyline of Rio * Pattern of green coloured areas : - The mosaic of cultures whereby the athletes are competing with conciousness, .. the respect for each other trough sport forms a pattern with harmony .. and the fulfilling of the whole frame by the athletes. - Refers to the greenery at the south-american continent and also to the brazilian (national) flag * Blue with fluid white lines : - The white lines are beginning behind the sugarloaf mountain and stretching trough the costal line of the City. .. The fluid blue with the white lines are in symbiose with the universal concept of the games, .. And are explaining about the flexible stream of movement, water and pureness of the Olympic Spirit - Also forming the white-sandy beaches. * Finally, but not least : the Jesus Christo Statue & the flame - Reaching for the top where the Olympic Flame is awaikening till the end of the games - Which belief, race, language doesn't matter. There is always a pure soul who keeps an eye on this magical city .. * Rio in white fonts : - Magical, pure and ready for hosting the games - Rio means River .. And the River will always meet the ocean where the ' to coming together philosophy ' is stand-by than ever .. greetings fatih civelek note: If i had to discribe the logo with 1 word, it would have been .. " Fluently " - Games
cube Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Ops! "Rio de JanEIro", not "JanIEro" i noticed it too and the logo i send in has the right word on it
cube Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 i guess it will not be easy to have a black/white version and versions on the colour background and i guess some elements of the logo are to small to make it work on lets say coke-cans and this stuff
