The clock, produced by official Olympic timekeeper Omega, will be located directly in front of the embassy on Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol and the White House. Canadian ambassador Gary Doer will unveil the clock in a ceremony that will include appearances by the three Olympic mascots, a draw for a trip to Canada and a live performance by Canadian pop singer Fefe Dobson. The event, meant to heighten interest in the Games among U.S. residents, comes on the same day U.S. Olympic broadcaster NBC ramps up its on-air promotional efforts for the 2010 Olympics. The network's "Countdown to Vancouver" campaign begins when the Today Show features U.S. Olympic athletes and demonstrations. The Jay Leno Show, The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will all feature Olympic athletes during the 100-day leadup to the Games. © Copyright © The Vancouver Sun
