No pressure, old bear As for Bernard, am I the only one that HATES her make-up?
Faster
Does it matter about her make-up? She is one of the best curlers in Canada and will win a medal (hopefully gold).

canucks4ever
Its somewhat bias though. Some major world cups like freestyle skiing have just started. You are right... otherwise..... korea will not be that strong..... (many speed skating events). but it`s updated daily so it's always fun to check a sneak peek once in while till the games. every country on tops are speed skating power right now. Faster
I should also had that there is a bias to the waiting of the world cups too. There is varying numbers of medals between each world cup sport and their waiting might be off compared to the Olympics. Case in point short track speed skating and biathlon. At the Olympics they have a biathlon favoured waiting (10 to 8) but in thw world cup there is a short track favoured weighting.

Jimbobogie
Another bad news (after John Kucera)Kelly Vanderbeek out for injury It's too bad that Linda Moore will be behind the microphone instead of on the ice-she was the skip of the rink that won the "gold" medal in Calgary. The problems facing the Canadian curling rinks are as follows: 1. Despite the praises sung by Ray Turnbull at the Olympic trials, the fact of the matter is that both world champion rinks will be at the Vancouver games-and neither is Canadian! It's true that David Murdoch will be wearing Great Britain's colours, rather than Scotland, but that shouldn't affect him. Also, Bingyu Wang and her rink will be back for China. Both have to be considered the teams to beat. 2. Although Cheryl Bernard is a great curler, the maple leaf can be a little heavy on one's shoulders and she's never represented Canada before. 3. Kevin Martin has-and, to be generous, Mr. Martin's international record is, shall we say, "spotty". My prediction is that Vancouver will complete the dreaded "hat-trick". Canada will not only be the only host nation to not win a gold medal twice-we'll make a three-bagger...and hopefully will never, ever host an Olympic Games (either Summer, Winter, Spring or Fall ) again! Fox334
Man, we are more likely to win 14 golds (which is extremely unlikely) that none at all... Actually, I would say that our chances of winning gold in Ski Jumping (which is pretty much the limit of x approaching zero) are better that being shut-out of gold medals. Heck, we could win three golds on the first day if everything goes swimmingly (which it probably won't, but I just want to illustrate the point of just how fucking unlikely it would be for Canada not to win a gold in Vancouver). I don't care how non-clutch Canadian athletes can be, but things can only go so bad when you have over 25 chances for a gold medal... Heck, I will name 25 events in which Canada has a better that 25-1 chance to win gold: -Men's Downhill or Super-G (2), -All men's short track events, plus the women's 500m (7) -Ice Hockey (9) -Curling (11) -Long Track: women's 1000m, 1500m, team pursuit, men's 500m, 1000m, team pursuit (17) -Skeleton, both (19) -Bobsled, four man and two women (21) -Snowboarding, men's and women's PGS, men's and women's SBX (25) Here, and I didn't even need to go trough Freestyle (5 potential gold). So, no, we ain't getting shut out.
