Citius Altius Fortius
Aren't the villages and cities (e.g. Wellington) close to the strait between the North- and South Island more in danger? I mean since the two Islands and the strait form a kind of cone, which let the water rise higher?

thatsnotmypuppy
4 confirmed Australians dead, 6 more feared dead. Arguably Fiji is the big tourist draw in the area for Aussies - but Samoa and Tonga have recently started another huge tourism push. About 200,000 Aussies a year visit Samoa.
