arwebb
You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out, but maybe you do to work out how Iran, for example, can possibly be ranked above Sweden or Denmark.
KRATK
You pooh-pooh even our (not by our choice) FIFA ranking of #6. And quite rightly too. I have yet to meet anyone sane who trusts the FIFA World Rankings. They are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. the rankings have som reliablity, next year the winner of the WC will most likely come from the top 10 countries, and most of the top 15 with be the round of 16 France 98 and FIFA Ranking May 1998 1.France -> 18. 2.Brazil -> 1. 3.Croatia -> 19. 4.Netherlands -> 25. 5.Italy -> 14. 6.Argentina -> 6. 7.Germany -> 2. 8.Denmark -> 27. 9.England -> 5. 10.Yugoslavia -> 11.Romania -> 22. 12.Nigeria -> 74. 13.Mexico -> 4. 14.Paraguay -> 29. 15.Norway -> 7. 16.Chile -> 9. 17.Spain -> 15. 18.Morocco -> 13. 19.Belgium -> 36. 20.Iran -> 42. 21.Colombia -> 10. 22.Jamaica -> 30. 23.Austria -> 31. 24.South Africa -> 24. 25.Cameroon -> 49. 26.Tunisia -> 21. 27.Scotland -> 41. 28.Saudi Arabia -> 34. 29.Bulgaria -> 35. 30.South Korea -> 20. 31.Japan -> 12. 32.United States -> 11. Faster
i would love to see lots of new countries into the worlc cup, then last time, so far only two, Iran and Ukraine. Though Togo, Ghana, Cote d'Iviore(unlikely), Angola(unlikely), Morocco, Bahrain, Uzbekistan, Trinidad, Guatemala, Australia, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Israel, Serbia and Norway could all make it to the big show this time around Iran played the 1999 WC so it isn't a new country. Ukraine... mmm... most of the players of the former URSS team were ukranians as Oleg Salenko... but I agree that we want to see new countries... but I have the idea that we will see just 2 or 3 new teams and the rest will be the classic countries. i ment countries that weren't in 2002, not high quality games in most cases
Phevos
Yeah, but Spain will win against Belgium and San Marino...Well...I hope so...but i am afraid Belgium has retained ground in the last rounds, and the match is in Brussels and WILL NOT BE EASY as the hosts are also aiming for the second place.. and Bosnia-Herzegovina will lost against Serbia and Montenegro... Actually we should hope Bosnia WIN against Serbia...after all, it is better for us to finish on top and avoid surprises of the the deciding round.. :sweet: :sweet: Anyway.....HASTA OCUBRE.. :laughlong:

Phevos
Brazil is the only nation to have qualified in all the World Cups, right?Yes, indeed.has this sort of scenario been done before? As far as i remember..france, hosts of 98 failed to qualify to USA 94.They lost their final qualifier to Bulgaria 1-2 in Paris.Emile Kostadinov scored the killer six seconds before the final whistle, and a draw was enough to take the french to America..
