Faster 545
So how is going to be watching this sporting event? Any predictions? i hope Thor Hushovd finally wins the green jersey this time, its getting depressing not seeing him win
Faster 545
the tour is about to begin on saturday with the prologde, which is now known as stage one 20 teams of nine riders are about to race and only about five of them actually stand a chance of winning so here is a breakdown of the 15 teams that have already reported to the race organizers about team lists Gerolsteiner - from the name i would say Dutch T^eam, hence they will do absolutely nothing in the tour notables on the team are few and Levi Leipheimer on the list, don't expect anything from him, he will crashing out between stages 12 and 15 Rabobank - the principle Dutch team, not to much in the way of good riders but are in the running for stage wins, Erik Dekker and Denis Menchov could post a win for the team, other than late, expect a low finish for the team Liberty Serugos - lead by a former Armstrong rider, Roberto Heras, but also Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano and Joseba Beloki could do well, but also unlikely Domina Vacanze - next Francaise Des Jeux - one of the teams which the Aussies love, Baden Cooke and Bradley McGee should provide some excitement for Australian viewership, but other then that, next Quickstep - Tom Boonen the next grea thing out of Belgium, other than that, notta, next Iles Baleares - Vladimir Karpets and nothing more, and he is not even a sure thing for some glory on the tour Credit Argicole - my personal favourite team, notables Thor Hushovd and Christophe Moreau, Moreau could do something for the overall race but doubtfull, Hushovd, if in form, should have the green jersey on his back coming into Paris Fassa Bortolo - next Phonak - other than Floyd Landers, another Armstrong man, and Santiago Botero, always a disappointment, next Liquigas-Bianchi - next Cofidis - Stewie O'Grady and nothing more, next Euskadi - Iban Mayo, possible winner, and Haimar Zubeldia, possible high finished CSC - Ivan Basso, a weak team compared to years passed T-Mobile - hands down, 100% strongest team on the tour, with Andres Kloden, Alexandre Vinokourov and Jan Ullrich this team is packed, Andres is Germany for the future and should win his first tour in the next four years, Ullrich is the probably winner of the tour this year and Vinokourov is a top 5 rider, any way you put it 3 riders - one team - 3 finishes in the top ten, possible multiple podium finishes and stage wins
Alexjc 354
Is there still plans to move the Tour de France to Quebec for that province's bi-centenary?

Guardian 22
Is there still plans to move the Tour de France to Quebec for that province's bi-centenary? I have heard of this, but very briefly. To be honest, I can't really see how it can be accomplished.
Faster 545
it would be accomplished the same way this tour is going to be, adding extra days, this tour is 23 days usually its only 22 and starts on a sunday not a saturday now for the last five teams that have finally been added to the tour website Lampre-Caffita - next Saunier Duval - Prodir - notta, next Davitamon-Lotto- the Belgian team that wants the green jersey, notables Robbie McEwan and Axel Merckx, look for Axel to get his first win Bouygues Telecom - next Discovery Channel - Lance Armstrong and the boys look to make it 7 in a row, team is weak compared to T-Mobile, and i doubt if Armstrong can do it
Guardian 22
Good luck to all the cyclists. Let the Tour begin.
Rei 9
I'd like to see someone like Ulrich or Basso parade trough the champs elysèe on 24 july
Faster 545
my choice for winning would be Andres Kloden, he's German and a extremely good rider, but kinda in the shadows. Truthfully T-Mobile has the possible with Kloden, Vynikorof and Ullrich to place one, two and three, but thats ignoring Iban Mayo, Ivan Basso and of course Lance

arwebb 133
I shall be following the Tour as closely as I can, given the disgraceful lack of proper coverage on terrestrial television over here.
Faster 545
its on, only on a specialty channel in north america except for the last stage which is broadcast on one of the American big three, can't remember which. But its not like our coverage is great, in the about five minutes of sprint set-up and sprint their was no mention of CA or of Thor Hushovd, even though he ended up second
Faster 545
third leg, only info i have currently is that Tom Boonen of Belgium won the stage, Robbie McEwen was DSQ and Erik Dekker of the Netherlanads took over the lead for the king of the mountains, or hills as it were

Faster 545
before i get to telling the few that are interested in this, i found something very ironic, in the Sydney 2000 Men's road race the results were as follows, Gold - Jan Ullrich Silver - Alexandre Vinokourov Bronze - Andreas Kloden now they are on the same team, racing in the same race, and at each others throats, and more importantly at the throat of Lance Armstrong, so hopefully one of the is going to break through Stage Six very interesting stage, results as follows 1. Lorenzo Bernucci ITA first pro win ever 2. Alexandre Vinokourov KAZ 3. Robert Forster GER Stage Seven 1. Robbie McEwen (dumb Australian) 2. Magnus Backstedt SWE 3. Bernhard Eisel AUT Stage Eight, great stage if you can watch this one on a replay watch it, its amazing 1. Pieter Weening NED 2. Adreas Kloden GER, watch out lance one more challanger 3. Faster 545
that is surprising that there is no coverage in the UK, but i guess they are not interested since there is, i believe, no British rider in the tour
Faster 545
ok stage nine - worst stage ever - so boring - so very boring - Lance just sat in the front and did nothing to make the stage at all interesting - i really hope he loses - especially to one of the T-Mobile riders - Go Jan, Vino and Kloden Stage 1. Mickeal Rasmussen DEN 2. Christophe Moreau FRA ( iwas really hoping he would get a win for France, it doesn't seem like the can win much lately) 3. Jens Viogt GER Yellow Jersey 1. Jesn Viogt GER 2.
