Miguel
If you want to see that boastfull supporters Rio's nice nature and location, just watch the PAN AM GAMES at youtube it is just like the opening ceremonies at olympics. But for the games sakes, showing the same thing again and again, samba samba samba, just watch it at youtube, you save money and just pay your debt. Cauê
2007 Pan Am Games 2014 World FIFA Cup 2016 Olympics to RIO? My goodness the people around the world will be bored. They might said, samba again...again and again and again so boring haha To IOC, Give it to others, want the opening to the world to be samba again? Geeee, hocus pocus.... Oh poor thing... U.S.A, Japan and Spain have never hosted the Olympics... Brazil, by contrast, makes the games from decade to decade. Is not it? Brazil is a country of great luck. U.S.A, Spain and Japan are poor thing... My heart is touched. Your Demerol works very well.

Triffle
Please IOC don't give in to commercialism and corruption as usual and give us what the world actually wants; a Rio Olympics.
Rob.
Please IOC don't give in to commercialism and corruption as usual and give us what the world actually wants; a Rio Olympics. Is that really your level of debate? If Rio 2016 even hints at an argument like that in the next few months, they'll be rightly told to fvck off by the IOC. Is Rio the only bid capable of winning on its own merits while others stoop to "commercialism and corruption"? Yeh, right. I've seen documentaries on aspects of Brazil, and it's hardly perfect on the question of corruption so that's a rather funny argument to use in favour of Rio. Come back with a proper argument next time you want to boost your favoured city.

Rafa
Am I the only one who thinks the island concept is a bit risky. One incident on one route and then what?
baron-pierreIV
Am I the only one who thinks the island concept is a bit risky. One incident on one route and then what? Never thought of that. Exactly!! Fellow IOC members, please take NOTE. Tokyo's island plan is VERY DICEY. We cannot have the competition held in jeopardy due to only one or two routes of access. TOKYO is a BAD PLAN!!

Rafa
I'm just raising the issue because when Osaka presented an island concept the IOC was less than impressed but now that Tokyo has a similar concept with even more islands they are praising it
Pure facts
I'm just raising the issue because when Osaka presented an island concept the IOC was less than impressed but now that Tokyo has a similar concept with even more islands they are praising it Hardly comparable: Tokyo transport infrastructure linking the islands to the city mostly exist today which was not the case for Osaka. Furthermore, for every island, there are several transport options, not just one link and the islands are not part of a single loop as in Osaka (a problem on one link wouldn't compromise the whole transport operations). Rafa
I know but transport operations between islands regardless of an additional transport option or two needed AT LEAST a mention by the IOC. Something along the lines of, "while the island concept is impressive and compact, careful attention will need to be paid to transport operations between the islands especially at peak Games time".. Compact-ness is great but even with great transport infrastructure, congestion is another issue

Chicago could have a similar with so many venues around the waterfront.
