I was wondering...has anyone heard how the flame will be viewed/displayed during the games? I mean, I don't understand why they are lighting it indoors because its literally the beacon of the games and no one will be able to see it!!!! I hope they open the stadium for people to come in and see it. I will be at the first 5 days of the games and would love to see the cauldron.

To date, there has been no official annoucement from VANOC about where the flame will be, other than the obvious that it will be in or near BC Place Stadium. So put your panties back on and wait a few months before you speculate yourself to death or put too much stock in the existing speculation.

Agreed.

Note that BC Place is also the site of the nightly medal ceremonies.....35,000 during almost every night of the Games will have a chance to see the flame, if it's indeed indoors.

But please, speak no more of the flame...i think we're all quite tired of talking about it.

Well Mr. X / X2 / Nitronuts you've apparently, according to your ramblings on Skyscraperpage, been selected as a Ceremonies Volunteer.

So I guess you know more that we do right?

So why do you create a separate thread to deflect attention away from the real issue?

Hey there's a Lions - Stamps game this Friday night. Why don't you drop by the BC Place Sauna and check out the stained roof and take some pics.

With this heat wave, I hear they're expecting the temperature to be 90 to 95 degrees inside

1) Well Towerguy 1/Towerguy 2/Towerguy 3/Towerguy 4/Yellow Vest/Douchebag 8/etc., you were banned from Skyscraperpage long ago.....at least a dozen times in fact. ;)

2) You're certainly right about me know more than you about what's going on, but not because i'm a ceremonies volunteer.

3) Discussing about the Olympic Stadium and the cauldron is something that happens for each Olympics here at GamesBids, but you've completely destroyed the topic. Talking about the stadium and flame here has become a huge joke because of you. Use you're noggin, though i doubt this post would get through to your head, you've been making an Everest out of a molehill.

4) I was at the last BC Lions game against Hamilton. Of course the roof is still dirty, we're still more than 6 months away from the Olympics and half of the renovations have been completed yet. It's almost like as if you're ranting about a 50-storey building that is still under construction and currently concrete is being poured for its 25th floor, yet complaining why there's no 50th floor to the building. IT'S A CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS!

The roof of BC Place will be cleaned in the coming weeks and months. Period. End of discussion. Simple as that.

5) You "heard" or did you made that up yourself just as usual?

Most people have better things to worry about than "heat from a flame puncturing the stadium stadium roof causing it to collapse in front of billions of people"......as if you're the only one that has thought about this and VANOC and BC Place don't have a team of experienced engineers dealing with it. See a therapist.

Why are you guys being so mean!!!??? I have read all of the previous threads on the flame and I was just wondering about viewing it since it would be indoors!! It was a simple question and not a big deal. You all need to calm down and understand that people come here to find information. There is no need for that

Don't take it to heart mate - we are all just a bit exasperated over Towerguy and his stupid obsession with the flame. You just came in as at a time when he and his obsession was really pissing people off.

Again, we don't know for sure where the flame will be. If it is indoors, you can see it when they have the nightly celebrations. If it is outdoors, then you can see it whenever. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a temporary indoor ceremonial flame and then an outdoor flame. Or maybe no flame at all since the roof will have exploded and 60,000 and all the athletes will have been charred and burned alive at the ignition of the flame, thus forever ending the Olympics. But whatever, just wait for VANOC to make the announcement. And no matter what, I'm sure you'll get to see the flame one way or another. BC Place is located right downtown and across from a SkyTrain station, so the flame will be more centrally accessible than the flames of past Winter Games like Calgary and Salt Lake.
