All most Europe have the like the world level games so the Europe is the lead the next two session of the Olympic that is the reason of the spain lead the 2016 olymapic. There have the different hostel and hotel facilities in Barcelona and Madrid..

Hostels in barcelona

Your statement makes absolutely NO sense. An Olympic bid does NOT START because they want to highlight 'hostels.?? Will you please get real?? <_<

Madrid is not happening for 2016 as you have two cities in much better time zones for the biggest private contributor of funding to the IOC American Television . This is why the talks for 2014 and 2016 in regards to Tv rights for America are being delayed to not have a repeat of the 2005 Singapore session where New York city was not awarded. It is a simple message to the rest of the membership of who butters over 50 percent of the bread in Lausanne. Mainly NBC Universal. Either Rio or Chicago will suit the IOC desire to have a very good product to have Fox , CBS , NBC and ABC all bid beyond a billion dollars per games for the US rights . If Madrid 2016 became a reality and the IOC basically shoots down the effort to get more out of America. London 2012 like Athens 2004 and Torino 2006 will most likely be a ratings bomb simply because of the time zone problem. No live events in prime time for the eastern sea board of the US. Rio 2016 can certainly provide event times that can put them live in Prime Time in America as Chicago of course can. Currently Rio is on the same time as my part of Canada or one hour ahead of NYC. Brazil doesn't use daylight savings time and could easily make a gesture in their bid to make Time change falling one hour back for the Brazilan Winter to make Rio's time the same as New York's. They could call it 2016 Olympics Savings time LOL.

Munich 2018 can safely assume that Madrid 2016 will indeed not become a hosting reality. Sochi 2014 however is a reality and unless Asia or North America does not present a bid it will probably end up any place but Europe. Considering you have a Candidate in South Korea and maybe Harbin China steps forward the odds are the games coming back to Asia 20 years after Nagano. Munich 2018 would be a mere 46 years after they hosted the 1972 summer games Munich 2018 is really not looking to the history of cities hosting the games. This would almost be as bad as Montreal launching a bid for the winter games of 2022.

A Harbin 2018 ten years after Beijing 2008 has a historical precedent . Tokyo 1964 followed 8 years later by Sapporo 1972.

Did anybody really expect London to win in 2005? It was kinda surprising because there were two very strong contenders (Paris & New York). This time Madrid is still on the race, is the only European capital on the race, and although its chances are really slim, I won't put it down just simply because of US TV rights. EBU has also anything to say about it. Actually, GMT is based on LONDON time and if I'm not wrong, that's the same for the whole world... including Asian & Middle Eastern televisions.

So please, let's stop of being simple-minded stating again and again that TV rights are the only reason to award SOG to a city: every voter of the IOC have their own & personal reasons to vote for every of the cities bidding. The surprise can come easily.

And what does the EBU pay for Olympic TV rights for a territory with as large an Economy collectively ? About 50 cents to every dollar the US does. with two Asia Pacific Games in the 2000's two European Games in the 2000's it is time to pay NBC Universal for their multi billion dollars investment in the games that for Sydney and Athens lost them a ton of money because ratings would not make the guarantees the Advertisers where sold on . London unless they are flexible like Beijing was will not be any different then Athens or Sydney.

The games have to be stage managed in a way that NBC gets bang for buck other wise you can try to rely on the 50 dollars the EBU provides. NBC has options as do all the other US networks that can and do deliver every year with nowhere near the expense. a typical Commercial on an olympic broadcast cost 650,000 us dollars per 30 seconds but that is a conditional on so many households watching . If they don't get those numbers in the first week you have what happened in Sydney, Athens and Torino the network having to waiver their fees from the sponsors for week two .

The only way the IOC guarantees increases in broadcasting rights is via the US network making money and that takes viewers. The US rights revenues is the benchmark that the IOC tries to use to get the EBU to open their wallets and in the case of coming rights for Europe the IOC has decided that the EBU has stonewalled long enough and the IOC will broker separate deals with each country.

You should read how Dick Ebersol of NBC Universal had the Beijing 2008 Bid changed via his conversation with Juan Antonio Samaranch in Sydney at the end of the 2000 games . The conventional wisdom was that Beijing would likely be awarded over Toronto who would have been perfect for making NBC money so Ebersol explained how the September staging of the Sydney 2000 gravely effected the ratings and NBC's bottom line . When NBC is hurt for the olympics then Top Sponsor General Electric who owns the network can start to question the investment. Ebersol hedged the bet on 2008 with his advise to the ioc president and this in turn had Beijing with 48 hours change the month they would stage the games to August per Ebersol's wishes. He went on to get Beijing 2008 to stage swimming and gymnastics in the morning thus hopefully assuring great ratings and a knock on effect for interest of Us viewers. Ebersol knew 2004 would be a wash simply with a terrible timezone.

The man has made the circumstances where a non America's Games can be successful for a US rights holders bottom line but only if there is co operation from the Host . Seb Coe like most europeans will have none of that simply because he believes he owns the olympics in 2012 where he is indeed not paying for therm over time like a US broadcaster or the list of US sponsors. NBC and most Netwroks sign deals that are usually a decade long for sports events while other territories is a long slow baby sit with short contract terms .
