So? Did you make this up?

So what? The final candidates for 2016 were locked up more than a year ago. Sarajevo alerady hosted 1984.

Belgrade should be satisfied with the Universaide. That's all they will ever host.

I just wanted to say who requested and what were reactions and evaluations ;)

Of the Capital Cities that make up the Former Yugoslavina Republic, I think that Belgrade is most likely to be host of the Olympics.

However Serbia don't do very well at the Olympics, and there are continued political issues, and until they are resolved, then only will Belgrade have a chance to host.

Slightly off topic but still about the Balkans....would Sofia really be capable to host the Winter Olympics???

I think the city would be great to host the games, but would it be right?

The Brazilian Olympic Committee (BOC) chose Rio de Janeiro as the national postulant city for the hosting of the 2016 Summer Olympics, during its Annual Assembly on September 1, 2006.[6] This is the first time that the city has proceeded to the Candidature phase after four failed attempts in 1936, 1940, 2004 and 2012.[7] If elected, the city would become the first in South America to host the Summer Olympics,[6] and with the 2014 FIFA World Cup organisation entrusted to the country,[8] Brazil would be the fourth country to host the Olympics and the World Cup in proximate years.
