drowninginair Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 VANOC unveiled the first round of ticket designs today. Vancouver Sun - Link At the end of the day, I'd say not too bad. About what I'd expect anyways given the design of the website, other branding etc.
Rob2012 Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 The "look of the games" so far for Vancouver is so classy, I'm very impressed. I'm even beginning to warm to the logo slightly in the context of those beautiful illustrations. Well done again Vancouver!
NY20?? Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 The dichotomy of the urban and the natural fits Vancouver very well. Great job.
barrack Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 the opening ceremony ticket looks fantastic. i love the juxtaposed images of what seems to be the sea.
olympian Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 nice. does anyone have photos of tickets issued for other games?
NY20?? Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 I figure information like the seat number, barcode etc. will go on the bottom.
Rafa Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Its always best to keep the concept simple yet memorable. Vancouver does well to balance the illustrations with the colours. It could easily have been a flop.
Rafa Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 oh and some glow in the dark illustrations on the tickets would be awesome too.
4gamesandcounting Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 oh and some glow in the dark illustrations on the tickets would be awesome too That would be tacky
Rafa Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Which means it will prob appear on the London 2012 tickets. Tacky all the way.
taichi Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 All they need to do is put the seat number and which row and it will be ready for the games. I like these. It looks great!
baron-pierreIV Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 (edited) All they need to do is put the seat number and which row and it will be ready for the games. U really think those are necessary, tai chi? It would clutter the otherwise clean look of the tickets. *********************************** But eeehhhhhh, I don't care for these. That blue-green color motif is sooooooo boring already. And couldn't they have made them even bigger?? Edited June 11, 2009 by baron-pierreIV
lehari Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 And couldn't they have made them even bigger??
Torchbearer AA Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I can't wait to receive my tickets:D:D
4gamesandcounting Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Baron blue-green is classy not boring. Would you rather purple-yellow?! Speaking of which, when do the tickets actually drop on people's doorsteps?
NY20?? Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Olympic branding reflects the culture of the host. Vancouver is a city where urban and natural meet beautifully. These tickets reflect that in color, pattern and texture, and in illustration. A video on recent Olympic branding: http://www.iconologic.com/client/olympics/
Torchbearer AA Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Baron blue-green is classy not boring. Would you rather purple-yellow?!Speaking of which, when do the tickets actually drop on people's doorsteps? They told us December 2009 or early 2010.
savas Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 i think they look quite nice,... maybe a bit too much elements yet this is the look of Vancouver. But are they really that big?
