Dinhu4ever
Going back to the logo, I'm not sure if you noticed this similarity before = I believe it's been brought up somewhere here in this thread. I have to say the hands metaphor works far better for the basketball world championship than the World Cup but hey, who am I to disagree with such big names in the design world like Paulo Coelho and Gisele Bündchen? DannyelBrazil
who am I to disagree with such big names in the design world like Paulo Coelho and Gisele Bündchen? You forgot Hans Donner, the wizard of (cheesy and outdated) broadcasting design...
gotosy
FIFA officials visit Brazil to discuss 2014 World Cup preparations By The Associated Press (CP) SAO PAULO — FIFA officials are concluding a week in Brazil to discuss preparations for the 2014 World Cup. FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke has met with local organizers and government officials to get updates on the country's arrangements ahead of soccer's biggest showcase. On the final day of his visit Friday, Valcke is also expected to visit several areas of Rio de Janeiro to choose a venue for the World Cup draw and find a location for the tournament's media centre. There was no official word on whether Valcke reviewed Sao Paulo's latest stadium proposal. Corinthians has announced it will build a new arena for the tournament but the project has not been officially unveiled to FIFA. It is the only host city without a venue. Bezzi
I agree. But considering the age of the stadium and the reform proposed, still a great venue for a (second) world cup final, don't you think? DannyelBrazil
I like it, and it will get better with lots of crowds inside!
Mau2010
From Maracana 2016 topic: Looks like it will have a "panathenaic" shape, is it supposed to fit an athetics track for 2016 Olympics?
Victor Mata
It seems like. Quite oval for a soccer pitch...
Rogerioandrade
Looks like it will have a "panathenaic" shape, is it supposed to fit an athetics track for 2016 Olympics? Unlikely. For the athletics competitions they will use Engenhao Stadium. Maracana will be used for the 2016 Ceremonies, though..
Rogerioandrade
The mayor of Sao Paulo has just started a survey/study for a possible upgrading of the Pacaembu Stadium, as an alternative for hosting games if Corinthians FC Stadium can´t be built in time or be adquate for as opening game : Video - Pacaembu proposal That is to say... Sao Paulo still has not a confirmed venue....

DannyelBrazil
Cut São Paulo. NOW It's better to cut some people from Sao Paulo committee than cut the city from the World Cup, which is sad. The people is Sao Paulo committee seems to be really lost! DannyelBrazil
A frevo-styled stadium would be interesting... or funny. Well, people in Recife can - very Brazilian-way - call the new stadium as "Frevão"
