2009 Iihf Ice Hockey World Championships

Recommended Posts

Well, the first round of competition is already completed, so its more that time to create a thread.

Notes: A win is worth 3 points, an Overtime or shootout win is worth 2 points, an Overtime or shootout loss is worth 1 point and a loss is worth no point.

OT is for Overtime, GWS is for Game wining shoots (otherwise known as shootout).

Well, the bottom two except Germany, which can't be relegated since they are hosting next year's worlds. Ya, sucks to be Austria, Hungary or Denmark...

Group G (relegation round)

The bottom two teams (excluding Germany, which is the host of next year's event) will be replaced by Italy and Kazakhstan next year.

Standings after 1 game each

1. Austria 3pts

2. Denmark 3pts

3. Germany 0pt

German's slide in both the men's and women's side continue. The fight to qualify for next year is now definitively between Austria and Denmark.
