SkiFreak
Just got a quick glimpse. They look alright. I'll have a better look later.
mr.x
I love it...how they retained the traditional shape of a medal plus added a twist to it, literally. The doughnuts from Torino were disgusting.
4gamesandcounting
Another great winter medal.
mr.x
Don't think Pringles chips, rather: The dramatic form of the Vancouver 2010 medals is inspired by the ocean waves, drifting snow and mountainous landscape found in the Games

dn607
Very nice design and very fitting to reflect the west coast of Canada. It almost reminds me of the large native art work that they have at the Vancouver International Airport.
baron-pierreIV
I like the over-microwaved look. Perhaps if they put them in the microwave, they will flatten?
Olympian2004
I like them. They're much better than Torino's (at least, judging by those first pictures -- I thought Torino's looked worse in real life than on the first pictures) and combine the robustness of Salt Lake's medals with the elegance of Albertville's or Lillehammer's medals. And it's also a great idea to make all of them unique. Design-wise, Vancouver is really two thumbs up -- even the logo, which has really grown on me. cslopes54
they are ok but not loving them.. torino had the best medals..
Olympian2004
Sorry, I didn't mean the robustness, but the rustic look of Salt Lake's medals (I hope rustic is the right English word -- I just mean that Salt Lake's medals looked very natural and "down-to-earth"). NY20??
I love the concept, the execution... it all works really well I think. Very, very good job Vancouver.
4gamesandcounting
For the last three games the medals have really matched the look and theme of the games. Full marks Vancouver, Salt Lake and Torino on medals.
jawnbc
Everyone's already said the "why" part for me. But I am very, very impressed! I wonder if the ripples will evenly distribute the multiple medals Klassen, Hughes, Guay, Hamelin, Roberge, Luedders, VanderBeek and Groves are gonna win? oakydoky
I think they are OK. They absolutely work with the brand image of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and develop the graphical language established in other aspects of the 'Look of the games'. On personal taste alone, I like the warped surface and how it evokes scenes of mountains but overall I don't find them as appealing as Turin's. NY20??
Just noticed how the medal ribbons are in that classy blue instead of in all those different tones of blue and green used in the Look. Good choice. Athens used tons of color on their ribbons and it didn't work against their medals. Beijing used a deep red that was very rarely used in the Look but worked great with their medals. Faster
One thing I am very happy about is the use of Canadian mined metals. It would be find cool if the Royal Canadian Mint released a similar styled coin.

IceNarcissus
The medals are GORGEOUS. O. M. G. This is definitely the best thing designed for 2010, nothing about them could be better. The wavy design to evoke the water, the subtle coastal artwork, and the midnight shades of blue. Perfect!
IceNarcissus
Meet the Medals - Vancouver 2010 This is the VANOC website about the medals, master artwork, etc. The idea behind them is so unique and fantastic. The metals come from not only Canada but throughout the Americas as well.
olympian
i like it. very unique and very BC. once again they went for the blue ribbon. 3rd time since 1998 that the medal ribbon is blue.
