Hah. I guess it wouldn't have then mattered to Annency's chances in the 2011-18 selection.
Nice's second time as host. in 2000, they stepped in as host after the championships were taken away from Brisbane.

Well, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games have started and one figure skating event concluded today.

Here were the Olympic medalists from the Pairs event:

Gold - SHEN Xue/ZHAO Hongbo (China)

Silver - PANG Qing/TONG Jian (China)

Bronze - Aliona Savchenko/Robin Szolkowy (Germany)

The Olympic figure skating events have concluded. Next, it is the world championships for both senior and junior competitors.

lysacek won't be going to torino.

I wouldn't be surprised, if more of the Olympic medalists don't go to Torino for the world championships. The interesting world championships will occur between next year's version and the next Olympic Winter Games in 2014.

Mao Asada Aims to Beat Kim Yu-na's Skating Score

Olympic silver medalist Mao Asada of Japan wants to surpass gold medalist Kim Yu-na, she told a Japanese newspaper.

After Kim announced her intention to compete in the World Championships in Turin later this month, Asada said she wants to beat the new world record set by Kim in the Olympics of 228.56 points, the Asahi Shimbun wrote Monday.

The Olympic champions in the pairs event from China has called it quits. So, there will be a new (or old) world champions in the event at Torino.

Anyway, the World Junior Figure Skating Championships are going to be held in The Hague, Netherlands, from the 8th to the 14th of this month.
