spectator12
It does look like a manta ray, IMO. Is this the Zahid Hada one? I just love her designs, especially her curvy ones.
Rob2012
Yes, it is the Zaha Hadid one The diving pool tank is in place: A bizarre venue in terms of construction. The walls seem to be the last thing going up!

Lee
Bizarre indeed. It seems so strange to see the roof so complete and yet no walls. I am still quite worried about how oppressive the low ceiling will feel inside the venue.

Dinhu4ever
I have to say that I thought that the green stuff in the roof was actually glass ^^' Though How impratical would that have been, right? And, based on the fact that I just watched Doctor Who's Planet of the Dead, I'm starting to think that the Aquatics Center looks like a stingray in motion. And I mean that in a very good way. Mr Tickle
Yes the diving pool is apparently full. They probably left the tap running in the changing room and it flooded : )

TrisL93
Where? Temporary seating would surely only be installed early 2012? You can see pillars at the bottom right of the aquatics centre and (i think) stands for the seats being installed nearer to the swimming pool. I don't think they would start that late on the seats because they need to build the wall surrounding the whole structure after putting the seats up as well, not forgetting the test events a year before the games begin. Rafa
its just scaffolding seating, not sure why they would install it this early mid 2011 maybe for the earliest, or perhaps the roof structure first.
