mr.x
TODAY'S PICTURE: False Creek Inlet To the right, downtown Vancouver. To the left, "Uptown" Central Broadway. Vanier Park is towards the top, is home to the Vancouver Museum and the Vancouver Maritime Museum. The bridge atop is the Burrard Street Bridge, built during the Great Depression, and further down is the Granville Street Bridge built during the 1950's. Below Granville Street Bridge is Vancouver's art/cultural hub, Granville Island....formerly an industrial zone, in the 1980's it was converted into a large public market, parks, restaurants, pubs, art schools, theatres, performing arts venues, dance venues, and many more. mr.x
A fire-like sky last night in Vancouver for the annual fireworks festival. No alterations were made to this photo at all, this is what Vancouver looked like for 1 hour. There was also a major lightning storm during the show, but still the fireworks went on (rain or shine) with hundreds of thousands still staying to watch: All pictures are from Flickr.
