BethnalGreen
Actually, if it wasn't the Mayor's arrogance that killed off the Paris bid, I've discovered what it was. It took me a while, but now it has all become so clear to me. Duh!! Should have worked it out sooner. The real reason why Paris lost That's just scary !!!

Surferdude
Lie back and think of England. Let's not go there please, I feel sick at the prospect of either. I believe Celine wrote personal letters to all the IOC members offering a personal rendition of her favourite songs to each one. It looks like they muct have accepted her offer -hence London won. hektor
All this is French naivete. Here is my final theory. IOC is like a girl... Since when are the girls choosing the one who works the best at school?... France was the Olympic competition nerd... and as a consequence did not get the girl... She was as vacant as ever when asked a question. I'd take any comments by this talentless hanger-on as lacking the breadth of knowledge that an amoeba would possess. Surferdude
Well, Celine Dion is actually not French but Canadian. So what you say is senseless.. The French bid team seemed very happy for her to be supporting their bid. Actually she is Swiss. All I'm glad is she didn't declare her support for London otherwise that would have been it, although Chirac and Delanoe would have been good challengers for the title of "we least want to support our Olympic bid". I'm sure Mugabe, Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden arer front runners too.

We know her much better than you in France and there's nothing shameful about her support, we were glad to feel supported by our Quebecker cousins. By the way I think you're becoming more and more insulting and intolerably rude with my country. So I strongly suggest that you shut up or try to talk about something else now. How dare you asserting on this forum that terrorists are France's allies? How can you say that when France haS been (before your country) a victim of terrorism during the late 1980's with bomb attacks in our subway which made many more victims than in London? I will not accept that some conceited, pathetic man whose cultural and mental level is as woeful as his statements, who obviously hates France for no reason, suggests that France could be supported by the barbarians you mentioned. We've never been insulting with the British people here, all we did was denoucing what happened in Singapore; but we got over it. We denounced Coe and Blair's attitude, but never personally attacked UK by saying horrible things about it. I think this website was made for sport-lovers and for Olympic fans, and for some racist people full of hatred and malice. So try not to cross the line and watch your statements because we've had enough, and if you keep having this unacceptable and childish behavior, we'll be forced to report you. You can consider this as an ultimatum.

You can consider this as an ultimatum. You've been here for, what five minutes (?) and you're issuing ultimatums! :laughlong: When you say "we've had enough" and "we'll be forced to report you" who exactly do you mean? Do you mean the French, or Paris 2012 supporters. If you do, your statement "we've never been insulting with the British people here" is the biggest pile of shite since a certain American President said "I never had sexual relations with that women". We've never been insulting with the British people here, all we did was denoucing what happened in Singapore BTW, as far as I'm concerned that is an insult. But becuase it's one based on your inability to lose graciously I won't take it to heart. As, for Surfer's comments I think you've got the wrong end of the stick. He wasn't asserting that these people were French allies. Nor was he saying they supported or could support your bid. He was saying that, because of Chirac's lack of popularity on the world stage and domestically, and because of his thoughtless xenophobic comments before the vote, you might as well have had Saddam as a supporter. Still a distasteful comparison, but not a racist one. Not even close. You need to calm down a bit. BTW, to correct you, London has been a victim of terrorism long before the late 1980s. Not that that is at all relevent to this thread.
