Well, many drivers still don't have a drive next year yet; they'll be wanting to impress. And the battle for 3rd in the constructors between McLaren and Ferrari is yet to be decided - irrelevent to us, perhaps (though I always want McLaren to beat the red cars), but there's a not insubstantial amount of money at stake for the teams, as well as pride of course.

Button mightn't screw up qualy now there's no pressure either!

Hmmm...true. I'm encouraged by Damon Hill saying a deal to get Silverstone on the calendar next year is "very close".

As for tomorrow, it looks very much like it's Lewis' to lose. RE: my question about weight adjustments, here's the answer:

The McLaren driver was on pole by a margin of nearly 0.7 seconds and he was still half a second clear when the amount of fuel in the cars was taken into account

Button collects trophy at FIA Gala

Jenson Button and the Brawn GP team collected their world championship trophies at the FIA Gala Prize-Giving in Monaco last night.

The annual event saw the champions from all the FIA categories officially presented with their awards.

Among the most notable presentations were Sebastien Loeb and co-driver Daniel Elena picking up World Rally Championship honours for the sixth successive year, and Andy Soucek becoming the first champion of the new Formula 2 era.

Button was delighted to officially assume the world champion title he had earned at the Brazilian Grand Prix in October.
