Citius Altius Fortius 560
Olympian2004, who is this "short" German player? First I thought that one of the ball boys stood in the wrong row...
Olympian2004 511
Olympian2004,who is this "short" German player? First I thought that one of the ball boys stood in the wrong row... A short player? Did he look like this? Then it was Piotr Trochowski. England is pretty dominant so far, isn't it? And Germany plays as nervously as always against such very well-organised opponents. arwebb 133
England thoroughly deserve their half-time lead. Don't mess it up!
Olympian2004 511
That's a very disappointing midfield on the German side while the English team is very concentrated and commits almost no mistakes (of course apart from that outrageous foul by Wright-Phillips, for which he should have been sent off). An absolutely deserved lead. I can only hope for a miracle -- the German team has to improve enormously in the second half.
arwebb 133
I must have missed that one. I saw a couple of fouls from Sweep, neither of which were particularly nasty in my opinion.
Olympian2004 511
I must have missed that one. I saw a couple of fouls from Sweep, neither of which were particularly nasty in my opinion. It was the foul for which Wright-Phillips got booked (30th minute).
Rob. 2046
That was a yellow card imho (our commentators said it was a harsh yellow actually!). It wasn't even close to being a sending off. The ref got that one right.
Olympian2004 511
GOOOOAAAAALLLLLL! What an answer to that devastating scene which almost lead to the English 2-0!

arwebb 133
Why didn't the moron just clear the bloody thing? You don't fanny about like that near your own penalty box. Kids know that! Imbecile!
Citius Altius Fortius 560
A short player? Did he look like this? Then it was Piotr Trochowski. England is pretty dominant so far, isn't it? And Germany plays as nervously as always against such very well-organised opponents. I meant Trochowski... Yes - the English team plays much better than the German team... The goal for Germany was a huge fault by the goalkeeper and this other player
arwebb 133
Terry should take responsibility there. He is the more experienced player. He should just bloody clear it.
Olympian2004 511
And still, England is very dangerous. That 1-1 is very flattering for Germany currently...
arwebb 133
It's a hugely encouraging England performance considering how many regulars are missing.

Olympian2004 511
Dammit! 2-1 for England. But one has to admit that this was as foreseeable as the 1-0.

arwebb 133
The "halfwit" John Terry just scored for England... And he's still a halfwit. International class defenders shouldn't mess about like he did.
Citius Altius Fortius 560
Argentina 1-0 up I think. Was the goal by foot or by hand?
Citius Altius Fortius 560
Rob seems to be right with his prediction - we messaged together this afternoon and he predicted: Germany vs. England 1:

Olympian2004 511
If this match had taken place in Hamburg the audience would have booed about this performance of the German team... The sad thing is: Any audience in any German city would have booed and jeered -- just like the Berliners did right now. I hate those booers -- one can be disappointed about such a match, but booing one's own team is just despicable. Anyway, congratulations to England. Maybe it's simply compensation for the German 2-1 in Wembley.
