intoronto Posted October 12, 2011 Report Share Posted October 12, 2011 It's interesting to note that Athletics is used for Olympic qualifying, seeing as how countries many of the countries at the Pan Am Games will be using their national championships as Olympic qualifiers. Whatever "minimum" standards that any of the Caribbean, American or Canadian athletes make at these Pan Am Games will be shattered by their teammates next year. It makes sense though for the countries of Central America, or Guyana or Suriname. Well what I meant was all athletes need to hit the minimum standard to compete. This event allows them to reach that standard, that doesn't mean they will compete in London especially if they don't do well at the their national championships. At 5:00 PM there will be a performance of the Air Force over the Omnilife Stadium SPOILERS! Terra has published on its website who will light the cauldron, as well for the last torchbearers and how the cauldron will be ignited. text will be in white below) Paola Espinosa, mexican diver and 10m plattaform champion at the 2009 FINA World Championships and the 2010 CAC Games, bronze medal in Beijing 2008 (she also was Mexico flagbearer at the olympics opening), will ignite the cauldron. The Americans moved to the top of the medals table from the opening event when Heather Irmiger won the women's cross-country mountain bike race. They just added more and more as the day went on, ending up with seven gold. Brazil was second with one gold and seven overall. My friends said up to 10 golds are disputed by the competitors in "pelota basca". that's a effin lot. but couldn't find much about racquetebol except it's like squash...
