Throne,

Where are you located and what is your primary language? I ask this because, though your spelling is fine for the most part, your usage of grammar and the context of your chosen words is rather bizzare for an English speaker. I've travelled extensively and yet I cannot pinpoint where they speak English like that. Just curious, as I can usually spot someone from Singapore, Eastern Europe, South Asia or Latin America from their usage of English, but yours puzzles me. Thanks.

He's a Russian troll.

Quaker.....you are - most certainly - a quacker.

You have NO argument

Wow...that pun was so lame that Baron's bigoted posts are funnier to read.

You will never find a greater hive of scum and villainy than the comments section for a newspaper.

Truth.

LOLOLOL.....In all decent things I beseech you, destitute stranger, do not this hour uttereth those damned things from your lips - unless you yourself have, in complete abandon, bestowed such unworthiness upon thine own head - and in your own delight of such grave madness, do spit forth the most defiling dirt which MUST BE only deserving of a place in the chamber pot upon which your master's arse do dwell, if only to appease his the fermenting depths of his bowels ......temporarily. Great sport misincorporate! LOLOLO!!!! Yours most graciously, Throne.

No...I actually consider persons such as yourself Latin ...to be the shimmering example of a fool. You and ofan, who, due to the constraints of knowledge about this particular topic, can do nothing better. Make no mistake, while I may appear to be savagely harsh in some of my contributions to Quaker and BT, I can actually follow their trajectory of reasoning and in some instances (though I insist quite a few), their arguments are valid. There is a mature conversational context, albeit understated, that exists between them and me. Of course, they may perceive of this rather differently, but I declare publicly that all things aside, they are wonderful conversationalists, though a bit off track in some of their reasonings as I certainly am in some of mine. Nevertheless, I prefer to engage with them and can only hope that the continue to engage with me.....at this level.

Do have a most pleasant day

Throne

Review update:

Aces: The you tube videos (official) of the Torch relays are very well done.

While still a tad bit too early, the crowds are encouraging. stay tuned.

Checkov...just stop while you still can.

July 24-10am-8pm

July 25-10am-4pm

8pm-11pm

July 26-10am-6pm

730pm-10pm

Most of the early end times during the second week are due to those annoying MLS-Euro club or Euro club vs Euro club summer friendlies.

I was going to add ESPNDeportes to my satellite lineup like I did four years ago and just record all the coverage while I am in Toronto from the 10th to the 18th. Turns out they need to send a tech out to realign my dish to actually pick up the channel. Still debating whether to do it for a channel that I will keep for only a month or two and then dropping it.

Almost forgot to add that most days feature a highlight show from 9-10am, and a show called Toronto al Dia at different times during the Games.

Anyone knows something about the Opening Ceremony????

We are almost just one month to go, and no news about it.....

I can't wait for spoiler post!!!!

The Blue Jays are still playing, and will hand over the stadium in a couple of weeks time. Once the rehearsals start we should have some spoilers. I know a few details from my "inside source" but I cannot say :D

I don't know if someone has put here the official Toronto 2015 song:

Personally, i'd preferer something nearer to "Bienvenue A Monstreal" of Rene Simard, because this song looks like another pop song instead of a official song of a big event.

Thanks for that BTH! :) I always knew ESPNDeportes would carry far more coverage than not just the US English version but even the Canadian Spanish channels TeleLatino and Univision Canada. Hope you enjoy your time up in Toronto! I'm a major lifelong fan of the multicultural city and hopefully next year very much to live up there! :)

Meanwhile, CBC and Radio-Canada have CIBC, Chevrolet, Atoma, Loblaws, OLG, Esso (ExxonMobil to us Americans), Maytag, and Hotels.com as their broadcast partners. Scott Russell will host a Pan Am preview special next week on June 13 called CIBC Pan Am Day. The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Chevrolet, and Atoma all will present Pan Am Games segments on the athletes and the diversity in Toronto and Ontario:

Depending on how demanding the OC is, rehearsals take placed weeks, even months in advance. But usually they don't start rehearsing in the stadium until a few weeks before the OC. If they need to rehearse much sooner, they usually do it in separate locations but only in fragments. Then they come together and rehearse it as a whole when they have access to the OC stadium.

Another overreliance on projections? Maybe......News items like this, however, need to be foregrounded in the media. However, she did say over 700 hundred. For their sakes it should be a very generous "over"

That isn't surprising given the bear hug winter had on us (and Toronto) just a few months ago.

I watched the Toronto Indy today in the hope of enhancing my anticipation for next month and I was a bit disappointed. Last year's race had Pan Am signage all along the track but this year had none. Was this a missed opportunity to promote the Games or were the race promoters irritated that they had to move the race up a month because of the Games.. Also the rainy, dreary weather prevented any aerial shots, I was hoping to see if they had even started the beach volleyball stadium yet.

I only want to know one OC spoiler. I'm sitting in section 115L and want to know how close the athlete's parade comes to my seat.

According to Ofan, the beach volleyball stadium was well under construction about 2 weeks ago. It should be done soon.

So here is that video:

anyone else notice the traditional Mexican dress in the rehearsal? I wonder if they're planning on an Arrivals-type segment a la Sydney 2000 OC. Toronto is known for having a diverse population, with immigration to the city almost encouraged.

For those who don't know the Sydney segment, here it is:

Since I saved a lot of $$$ with my result of ticket for Rio via Cosport :

I think I will make a small trip (4-5 days) to attend some events.

Gymnastic and Swimming Final in Toronto

Rowing and Canoe-Kayak Finals in the Niagara region (with visit of some winery around)

A base jumper from the CN Tower sounds interesting, and somewhat clever. You have an open roof at the start, the jumper comes from the closed tower (for the opening ceremonies) lands on the field, fireworks abound, perhaps part of the countdown sequence. Then slowly the roof closes for an indoor portion of the ceremonies, only to open later when the cauldron is revealed and the big fireworks finale.
