Exactly, some venues aren't even decided yet!

I still don't get that once it became clear that in mid summer 2010, that Hamilton was rapidly becoming not an opton, that the Committee did not immediately pursue a waterfront option especially especially as the York location had already been rejected for a MLS and CFL stadium due to its remoteness.

Whilst 2007 was an excellent stringboard for Rio successfully winning the 2016 games, 9 years later, Toronto seem to be striving for the complete opposite.

Can you imagine a Joao Havelange Olympic Stadium built for 40,000 in the eastern portlands close to the village, ready to be expanded for the 2024 games? Talk about a missed opportunity. The irony is with over 3 years to go, it would be possible even now to build something similar.

Micheal Thompson a councilor suggested venues be built as big as Olympic venues, however nothing seems to have changed.

Also for the venues that haven't been decided I was referring to baseball/softball

I'm a big fan of making things scaleable. Often a stadium is built and it is then really expensive to expand it. The Joao Havelange was built at 46,000 but easily increasable to over 60,000.

Reading about athletics, have they actually settled on the site yet?

It does seem ridiculous that the Skydome is possibly only going to be used for ceremonies. Why not close the roof and use all that interior space?

Yes its at York University here is a map:

http://www.yorku.ca/web/maps/KEELE_Map.pdf

Where building 6 is right now will be demolished and a 12,500 seat venue will replace it.

Rogers center was supposed to host baseball, but that seems to be off as it was reported that Hamilton was offered it.

I think its because it would be hard to convert from the ceremony stage to a baseball diamond, here's hoping for a grand opening ceremony

I think my head is spinning. Is it just me or there is still more "decisions" to be made on sport venue sites, never mind getting them built or upgraded? For starters, I am certainly not wanting Toronto 2015 look like a repeat of Montreal 1976! <_<

Only venue not decided is baseball/softball and wrestling.

If I remember well, the last three editions of the PanAms were chosen with 5 years of advance. Toronto was chosen 6 years ahead of 2015 and the recent news give the impression the organizers are really taking their time...

More time then expected  All venues should be done by FEb 2015.

Well, you cant expect anything Olympic calibre. Not totally sure what they mean by "Simple" though, weather that means basic or simple in style only time will tell. Not expecting something overly good though, specially with what we got from Guadalajara.

Well according to TO2015 officials they said Guadalajara was amazing and that "simplicity would be an asset" for the 2015 ceremonies.

^^ Let's see, maybe they will change their mind later on and try to make something more spectacular. Although I hope is not simple as Winnipeg was...that was the first Pan Am Games ceremony i've watched ever, but it hasn't aged very well.
