baron-pierreIV
Actually, I LOVE IT! There's too much crap going on. Where are the nice, clean images?
NY20??
Again, I think / hope the Look will be edited slightly for the venues - how odd would it look for a figure skater to perform with small boats, traffic lights, bridges, animals, lamp posts, and planes in the background? It's just too literal. The color palette and patterns, however, are beautiful - some more than others but overall, I really like the creativity in the inspiration. Btw, here's a video of how the brand developed - http://www.vancouver2010.com/en/about-vano...10jd/index.html
mr.x
Some of the original graphics, which will now no longer be used:
Rob2012
Very........Canadian. I like it very much; a well executed evolution of the brand in my opinion. Still don't think much of the logo, but the graphics are beautifully done.
NY20??
The original brand works a whole lot better with the two logos than the new one does. But whatever, Olympic Looks rarely match the logos, or the mascots for that matter. And either way, the Look takes center-stage more than any logo once the Games come along anyway. Durban Sandshark
I like the new pictograms. They give the impressions that they're three dimensional unlike those in the past; if I saw the original graphics, I would expect them to be used, maybe something mountainy. Honestly, I wasn't paying attention to much of what has going down up in Vancouver with their Olympic developments. And the green and blue certainly captures the essence of the Pacific Northwest region real well. As cfmJeremie says, I'd be interested in how it comes down with the upcoming artifacts like the volunteer uniforms, ticket presenations, and venues. Kenadian
OK, after digesting this for a day now, I think I like it now. It is fluid and expresses movement, even if they are not that warm. The busy-ness is a bit unexpected but you certainly see BC in there.
olympian
what i like about the graphics is that its cooler to the eye than the bold and bright colors used in Athens, Torino and Beijing. I like the fact that they used different shades of green and blue with some touches of gray which is very much Vancouver and the area.
Bob
I think the pictograms are fantastic! I love them. Great job!

Vancouver_rocks
I think this is the best thing they've done yet. The images are very west coast and are different and interesting as opposed to other Olympic games. I'm a huge fan.
Athan
It looks like the logo and the pictograms are from different editions of the Olympics. The logo is really nice, at least I like it, but it's very difficult to see details in the pictograms when they're small.
Ruling Czar
Sep 17 2008, 10:59 PM Post #3 Kendegra Quote I wish I could see them up close. They look so boring. And the new banners look so busy. They had a nice brand before. Why are they ruining it? I dunno................ does it has anything to do with being Canadian? Ruling Czar
I agree, I think the new look is rather quite refreshing! I am impressed with the fluidity and the use of the "whip lash" lines. I give Vanoc full points for the rebranding!

Rei
Pretty.. but the bicolor choice ends up boring and monotone..
olympian
the blue and green shades are a nice departure from the bold and bright colors of Athens, Torino and Beijing. its pretty cool in the eyes and really reflects the city and the pacific northwest.
