Nice thought and it probably would be a nice gesture, Maryjane, but unlikely to happen. Been here, done that. The IOC in 2000 already did that when they awarded Sydney and its inhabitants with the "Pierre de Coubertin Trophy" in recognition of the collaboration and happiness shown by the people of Sydney during the event to all the athletes and visitors around the world.

Come to think of it, that means I'm a holder of the Pierre de Coubertin Trophy. Woohoo!

MJ, then Gold medals would NOT mean much.

THe volunteers (key word: volunteer) usually get a Certificate and get to keep their outfits and their accredications. Plus they have bragging rights AND all those pins and memories.

The Organizing Committee does not forget them.

No need for MORE pictures on this, MJ. ;)
