World #1 pair from China LOST to world #8 pair from Japan in the QF. The Chinese badminton players are all under tremendous pressure. Good for others! :-)

Lin Dan just won his match.

Xie Xingfang also won her match.

Bao Chunlai faced an unexpected fight from a Guatemalan player... and he almost lost! That Guatemalan player is definitely a player to watch.

Malaysia's Wong Mew Choo is playing on the next court to Lin Dan's game.. thank God for Beijing 2008 website providing live real-time results. She won the first set. Now leading her 2nd set 15-6.

Next up, Malaysia's Wong Choong Han (MAS) vs Taufik Hidayat (INA) This should be interesting! Taufik is Athens gold medalist. He has not been playing well lately. Just recovered from dengue fever 2 weeks ago. But Taufik has the tendency to rise to the occasion, when it matters most!

Malaysia's 'old man' Wong Choong Han just defeated Athens' defending champion Taufik Hidayat (INA) 21-19, 21-16 to go into the 3rd round.

Great match. These guys are buddies. Taufik is a regular sparring partner with members of the KLRC (Kuala Lumpur Racket Club) which includes several Kiwi players and other non-Malaysians as well.
