No Blacks In Bars In Beijing ?

Recommended Posts

I hope so.

Personally I think the government tends to prevent the potential crimes involved with prostitution and durgs during the games-time, or to say it fair it's similar to crime watchdogs in the West. But not neccessarily the street ban, that's just impossible for Beijing to do that in terms of thousands of foreigners in the city. I beg the policemen have more worthy time and valuable energy to do sthelse rather than that, that sounds stupid.

maryjane, although i dont condone what is accurately or inaccurately reported by the media, you seem to believe any foul news surrounding China is false. Is there a reason for that.

From a perspective outside of China, these kind of articles seem highly believable.

Because I read from both the Chinese Press and the Western ones form all sources. I'm not sayin those are 100% true or false until knowing the official confirmation of it. Because rumours are always easy to be made and for this particular news just sounds stupid as the other one that the meals for athletes only be sold for $1. And it did provoke a huge controversy in many Chinese forums until BOCOG confirms it's not true at all.

Let's just see what's going to happen during the games-time.

I don't think that's true. That's just rubbish rumours

No, it's not rumour. It's absolutely true--because of the Olympics, the police have been told to go around and "suggest" that said undesireables not be permitted in bars and places of entertainment. The most notorious area for the (black) African drug-dealing has been operating quite openly, in the same location for years. Why? Because they operate WITH THE BLESSING AND THE PROTECTION OF THE LOCAL POLICE. This is well-known by just about every Chinese and foreigner living in Beijing. Also well-known is that many of the blacks in the drug business are related to members of the diplomatic corps from African countries. And no, I won't name the primary offending countries. The police had previously been told to have a hands-off policy to avoid pissing off the African countries that China is busy trying to loot of their mineral, timber, and other natural resource wealth. It's only because of the Olympics that governmental powers at the Highest Level have gotten involved and told the police to clean it up...at least for the next couple of months. The fact that there are many completely innocent people with black skin around here, who might happen to want a drink or a meal, doesn't really cut any ice with our Chinese Minders. They did start doing the bar raids late last summer, usually with as many blacks (and some non-black foreign youth) as they could catch ending up in the police paddy wagon and later at the station, until they could get bailed out by relatives and friends. Nearly all of whom were of course completely innocent of anything other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as the real criminal element had been tipped off and were nowhere to be found.

For the official Beijing Olympic cleansing enema, it's not just the blacks and the Mongolian prostitutes...the City's major gay entertainment venue has been told to shut down. And the dodgier karaoke parlors that were pretty much fronts for prostitution have been told to put transparent windows in the doors to the private rooms, and to provide monitors. I find the karaoke purification to be particularly hilarious, since a huge number of the dodgy places catering to "businessmen"--as opposed to the ones you go to have fun with your friends--are owned by officers of the Peoples Liberation Army.

I'll leave it to you all as to whether you want to take CCTV and whatever BOCOG says as gospel. Heh-heh. I live here and am reasonably plugged into the network and jungle drums, so I KNOW what's going down, and there's no way to make the reality palatable to the rest of the world. I do so love it when the Chinese have to publicly backpedal...

You meant Sanlitun? lots of Beijingers found that place interesting as nasty. lol ~ Laowai sex and drug traders got to be involved with the hats of colonial civilians. It does happen anywhere in the world. But fairly to say, it's going to be a disaster if Beijing got huge increase by its HIV infection numbers just after 2 months. Anyway, lets go to the bars and see.

So, just so I'm clear on this, you're in support of the closure of this "gay entertainment venue" because you don't want there to be an HIV outbreak brought on my gay foreign tourists who might visit such a place?

I hope that's not what you're getting at. Where are the mods on this board?

No~I don't mean that, I just saying do bring some condoms and enjoy your gay friends privately since prostitution is going to be legal in Beijing. But anyway your sexual safety is the king of all.
