stryker
Seems like the 2007 Pan Am Games came and went without so much as a blip on the radar at least in the U.S. Then Guadalajara was the only applicant for 2011. Have the Pan Am Games lost what luster they had? What would it take to get the Games more notoriety in the U.S. outside of a U.S. bid?
KRATK
Probably in the US wasn't a big thing... but I think that the objective of the PanAms are for those countries that usually don't have a lot of success in sports. In fact, Rio 2007 was a TV success in Chile, much bigger than Winnipeg or Santo Domingo. Probably the same must happened in other countries... for example, I don't think Bolivian or Paraguayan public enjoys a lot of the Olympic Games, especially if they have almost no chance of win anything... but the thing is different in the PanAms. dave199
I was pretty disappointed that the 2007 Pan Am Games weren't even broadcasted in Canada. Now the COC wants to put forth a Canadian bid for the 2015 Pan Am games.
