Grasshoppers Threaten Beijing.

So after algaes, another natural threat risk to afflict these Olympics.

From latest news, due to repentine climatic changes a massive flock of grasshoppers is supposed to invade Beijing in the next weeks. They already invaded the chinese region of Inner Mongolia and are only 300km far from Beijing. Already 33.000 corps were mobilizied to fight the invasion. :unsure:

That happens almost every year, not just for the Olympics. Outter Mongolia even worst.

Generally the main couse it's the sheep eaten out the grassland

so will grasshoppers be a cheap feed in Beijing? :)

Although not a particular habit of Beijingers, grasshoppers are eaten as snacks over much of Asia. When you fry them up with a little oil and secret blend of herbs, they taste pretty much like peanuts.

I am keen to try a few of the stranger thing while in China Scorpion and Horse meat but not sure if that is more a Mongolian thing?

What strange delight would you recomend? I dont eat anything out of the sea by the way.
