Tanaka_Ray
For me 1. Bundesliga is a little bit awkward, Bundesliga is the only football league, where the team from capital (Hertha Berlin) is not too competitive if you compared with another league. Premier League (Chelsea, Arsenal), Serie A (AS Roma, Lazio), La Liga (Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid), Eredivisie (Ajax Amsterdam), even in Ligue 1, although Paris SG have a difficult season in 2007/2008, but Paris SG still one og big team in Ligue 1, but waht happen in bundesliga ? Why Hertha Berlin only become the 2nd class ? Below FC Bayern, Werder Bremen, Schalke 04 ??

Mostly cause historically, the best and most winning clubs come from indutrial-financial cities (where were established the first football societies) rather than political capitals: (with the only exceptions of Real Madrid, Ajax and Benfica) you see Barca, Milan, Inter, Juve, Man. Utd, Liverpool, Lyon, Marseille, Bayern, Borussia, PSV and Porto. And that’s one of the main reason makes the Champions League so fascinating: the opportunity to show “second cities” pride. Beside, capital clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Roma become being strong in major european trophys (without winning yet though) pretty recently. Paris SG has never been a succesfull club outside France.

Bundesliga from the start until today without any break... 1860 Munich was one of the founder clubs of the 1. Bundesliga - Bayern Munich came later into the 1. Hmm,,,, I don't mean with the successful in european, I know that Paris SG never been successful in european, but at least they are 1st class team in domestic league, but why hertha berlin as a representative from the capital cannot be at least 1dst team class in domestic league (at least every 1. bundesliga start new season, Hertha Berlin can be in the race for contender for the thropy with munich, bremen, stuttgart, etc) ? Why? Because they don't play well enough! Simple as that. Why shall it be a guarantee of quality just to come from the nation's capital?
Olympian2004
By the way: In a federal and non-centralist state like Germany, the capital isn't as important as in other countries anyway.
Tanaka_Ray
Hmm... OK Olympian2004 Thank you for your explanation , but I still hope, someday Hertha BSC can be one of the strongest team in 1. Bundesliga... ,
