thatsnotmypuppy Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 After a week of chaotic scrambling and suspiciously orchaestrated Godzilla attacks, the IOC has confirmed receipt of the expressions of interest for staging the 2008 Games from the following cities - Barcelona, SPAIN Berlin, GERMANY Brussels, BELGIUM Los Angeles, USA Montreal, CANADA Munich, GERMANY New York City, USA Osaka, JAPAN Pyongyang, NORTH KOREA Sydney, AUSTRALIA Various rumblings have came from the following cities - however a confirmed bid has not yet been announced - Paris, FRANCE San Francisco, USA The IOC has ruled out the following cities based on various factors - Bruhas, BELGIUM - based on the witches logo, the IOC has declined to be associated with black magic again. Not after last time in Sarajevo 1984. Rio De Janeiro, BRAZIL - the IOC will not allow the Games to go to a city so woefully underdeveloped and lacking anything a real modern Olympics needs. Tibetan Autonomous Region, CHINA - the IOC has giggled heartedly at the Tibetan bid but has declined it. The IOC requires each bid to now submit an emergency bid document by May 02! It needs to be a simple document outlining your available venues, temporary venues and accommodation/village plans. Oh, and you must submit a logo. The document is to be no more than 10 pages long and should feature a basic map showing the layout of your venue plan. A vote will follow!
Sir Rols Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 has anyone actually started on a bid? I must admit, Sydney may be a non-starter _ I've got my plate full at the moment, so really doubt I'll be able to go ahead.
Aronious Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 i must admit, without the raging godzilla tag story, a replacement city race (in fantasy and in the real world) is quite bland to me.
Citius Altius Fortius Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 has anyone actually started on a bid? I am in the same situation like Roltel - I will try, but it is very busy at the moment...
Michelle Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 I still hope to submit a Brussels bid, doing the majority of the work at the weekend. I'll see how it goes.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 It should be a small amount of work - you dont need any bells and whistle as the 'emergency' Games will be an austere event anyway. Just a list of your venues, a logo and whatever else you think will seal the deal. Osaka is ready to go. BTW I have added a 'Anti-Godzilla' measures section to my bid - I suggest you do likewise!
Citius Altius Fortius Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 It should be a small amount of work - you dont need any bells and whistle as the 'emergency' Games will be an austere event anyway. I will try to do my best...
Citius Altius Fortius Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 sorry folks - I have to withdraw with my Berlin bid, since I hadn't have the time this weekend to make the bid...
thatsnotmypuppy Posted May 6, 2008 Author Report Posted May 6, 2008 I'm guessing May 2 was too soon? I have Barcelona and Osaka's bids in hand. Anyone else? Meed an extra week?
james Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 Did you say Rio de janerio is a city so woefully underdeveloped and lacking anything a real modern Olympics needs? Jeez! I am scared of Thatsnotmypuppy.

james Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 arent we all, but what does this have to do with the competition...get a life you loser. I hate that contemporary jargon `get a life`.Am not a loser. There`s nothing interesting about the competition, though.
Aronious Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 I hate that contemporary jargon `get a life`.Am not a loser. There`s nothing interesting about the competition, though. I dont think anyone cares what you dislike...and for that reason dont bother voicing your opinion, ever.
Scotguy Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 i guess this competition is not happening must say im dissapointed especially after making a bid book and submitting it
thatsnotmypuppy Posted May 31, 2008 Author Report Posted May 31, 2008 I know - this one kind of died a quick death. I'll post your bid book tonight as it is actually quite good. I got about 90% of the way through my Osaka bid book - so I may finish that in the next few days and we can have a vote off! Japan VS Spain - global titans! Ha!
