Recommended Posts

... they already did - the largest Tibetan population of Europe is in Switzerland and they had asked the IOC for participation in Beijing - which was denied - the lit a torch in ancient Olympia and made a run with a torch of human rights...

I think it's time to protest those fake Olympic Torch relays!!

My heart is bleeding. Olympic Flame was so weak to speak out to all 'his feeling' except being hijacking over and over again.

Those innocent torchbearer are not supposed to bear for that.

Almost thousands of Pro-China crowd in T Square and the long march near white hall. No hightlights from that in BCC whatsoever.....They can't even name the torchbearers....Anti China coverage whatsoever....

Funny that. I could have sworn I saw plenty of Chinese flags, etc in the crowds in Trafalgar Square on the BBC coverage.

True - but the IOC is responsible...

I would say the Chinese Government policy has also a huge share of responsibility... They knew they were under scrutiny from the entire world and didn't even try to pretend they would improve their HR record.

Not to mention BOCOG and its brilliant idea of staging another global torch relay (the IOC was not too keen with the idea to start with).

of course they do. They should be ashame of whey been doing to their own people. However, I wouldn't think those Tibet Free are good ass. The professional background by CIA reminds me the 1988 Taliban and American political honeymoon.

it's not that one. this is it

There is a huge discussion about this video everywhere - allegedly it was posted by someone in Canada, but it is suspected that the Chinese Propaganda Ministerium is behind this video...

I am not astonished that you posted the link here, maryjane

........I'll have to say this is a original American programme I saw before that exsists in Youtube. It did not say any good about communist stuff, but just explaining the background, especially the CIA part. I been asking my Tibetan friends, they said they are being paid by dollars......

I don't want to make it too serious, but I won't believe both of them until I been digging some solid truth. :(

I have to say, I was in Trafalgar Square this afternoon to catch a segment of the torch relay, and the atmosphere was charged, to say the least. The police looked very alert and expectant, and growing crowds of Pro-China and Pro-Tibet protesters were separated either side of a main thoroughfare from Nelson's Column to the National Gallery steps.

At some points, the two crowds started shouting and booing at each other with a certain level of vitriol, and standing in the middle of that as an innocent fan just wanting to get a glimpse of the flame was very unsettling. I also found it very interesting that the pro-China crowd had very professionally printed Beijing 2008 branded flags and banners.

In the brief time I was there, I saw two protesters who made for the torch efficiently moved away by police with only an appropriate amount of force, and I can only praise their hard work in keeping the event safe for all involved.

As for the flame itself, I realise now watching back the live coverage that the reason I caught only a glimpse of the flame was that it was removed from such an open and indefensible position as Trafalgar Square with great speed, as the penny had clearly dropped in terms of increased security by that point.

As a simple fan of the Olympic games, and a believer in the Olympic ideal, I was honoured to get my first ever glimpse of the Olympic flame, but will never forget the sad circumstances under which it happened.

The experience has left me with the strong belief that Beijing 2008 will be remembered more for politics than for than any of the sport. I find myself now extremely worried about what is going to happen as this flame makes its way to Beijing - a "Journey of Harmony" it most certainly isn't going to be, and we were lucky today that no-one was hurt in London, and that no violence broke out. But will we be able to say that of other cities on the route?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I think BOCOG may need to ask itself some questions about this torch relay judging by today.

Good. I am glad to see that Beijing is fighting back in their own way against those motley protestors. Why should those rabble-rousers be the only ones to hog all the attention?

God, these hysterical HR forces are turning me into an admirer and defender of Beijing!!

Ohh - yeah - I hope the Chinese Secret Service will send some huge bodybuilders as bodyguards to San Francisco or Paris - I would love to see some muscles - especially in sportswear!!!
