Lord David Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Well we'll see if I ever get things done.
baron-pierreIV Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Teh? And isn't TeHEran the preferred spelling?
ghost1 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Teh? And isn't TeHEran the preferred spelling? While TeHEran is more common, TeHran is the official spelling
Lord David Posted March 6, 2008 Author Report Posted March 6, 2008 While TeHEran is more common, TeHran is the official spelling I chose Tehran because it's the official English spelling of course! Now if we're done debating about the spelling of the city, can we go start asking questions about the bid itself? Any pre-bid book critiques? Well anything?
baron-pierreIV Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Why are u using Mt. Fuji in the logo? Or is that Kilimanjaro?
Citius Altius Fortius Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 ... and there are several inverted christian crosses in the logo... Are you trying to excorsism the totalitarian Iranian administration?
Lord David Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 Why are u using Mt. Fuji in the logo?Or is that Kilimanjaro? That's supposed to represent Mount Damavand, the dormant volcano located in the middle of the Alborz mountain range.
Kenadian Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I'd suggest changing your slogan - "The Logical Choice" is not a good one here on Gamesbids...give the people what they want. Excitement, passion, controversy! Especially since Tehran is not so logical. ; )
Lord David Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 I'd suggest changing your slogan - "The Logical Choice" is not a good one here on Gamesbids...give the people what they want. Excitement, passion, controversy! Especially since Tehran is not so logical. ; ) What? Huh? I thought "Teh Olympic revolution begins!" was my slogan.
Kenadian Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Oh, missed that...just read the headline of this tread. My bad.
Lord David Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 Well the Labor day holiday is upon me, perhaps I could get some maps done and some descriptions and such. I have done the venue list, might need some refining, all decent I suppose. I could probably get this whole thing completed soon if I really put some hard work in it.
Lord David Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 Introducing the new Tehran 2018 logo:
baron-pierreIV Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 You will have equestrian sports for the Winter edition? (Yeah, yeah - I get the chess allusion; but was chess even invented in the winter?) What is the "Teh" in your tagline?
Lord David Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 You will have equestrian sports for the Winter edition? (Yeah, yeah - I get the chess allusion; but was chess even invented in the winter?) What is the "Teh" in your tagline? To answer question 1, no. Unless the Winter Pentathlon was to make a notorious return! Answer to 2, Chess was supposedly invented in Persia, or India, depending on the source. Persia I say! It was invented in Persia! And for the final question, Teh as in Tehran, perhaps the typist of the logo is a little dyslexic, eh?
Lord David Posted March 17, 2008 Author Report Posted March 17, 2008 Ok, here's a preview of the proposed venue plan. There may be some more previews later. Stay tuned.
james Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 It might be posible for a Tehran bid as the chance of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as president is very slim in the coming election.
Lord David Posted March 30, 2008 Author Report Posted March 30, 2008 A truly momentous occasion! Tehran has officially sent it's mini bid book by the end of the deadline!
