Again, sorry, not really. But we can live in hope! But now I again have your attention, you might wanna do us all a real big favour and click on the link below and vote in the logo comp. that’s all it takes, one click and then tick one box! It’s not hard to see that it hasn’t exactly been an active time for the board, but nevertheless, we managed to get a reasonable amount of entries for the comp. Now for those who put in the work to design some logos, it’d be great if we could get some real votes and judgement from the wider membership so we get a truly deserving winner rather than one by default. Round one got a reasonable number of votes. Round two so fast has been, well, quiet is an understatement! C’mon, if for no other reason, for old time’s sake. Just click here and then tick one box to vote. Simples! https://www.gamesbids.com/forums/topic/28868-round-2-vote-13th-annual-gamesbids-logo-comp-summer-2032/?tab=comments#comment-531793

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, Mesdames et Monsieurs, And Hola! Welcome to Havana. I hope you've enjoyed your cruise on our slow boat from Hamburg, but all good things must come to an end. Tonight we reach the culmination of our journey to choose this year's logo winner, a journey that took us from the wilderness of Nepal to the streets of Hamburg and now to the delights of tropical Havana. On the way we've crowned an all-time logo winner, a winter games logo winner and now we are set to add another name to our pantheon of summer logo winning designers. I want to thank everyone who entered this year - these comps couldn't go on at all without your keenness to put pixel to page and your willingness to share your ideas and put them up for appraisal by our tough judging panel. It's not easy - I know all too well - so I salute you all and give you my heartfelt thanks. I also want to thank everyone who voted - I hope it's given you a bit of diversion and something fun to do on the board. And it's true, you all are a discerning and knowledgeable audience. You always come up with a winning entry that's truly worthy to crown at the end. Anyway, to make the winner's announcement, I'm going to hand over to our special guest presenter who has flown into Havana by special request to associate with winners. Senors, Senoras and Comrades I give your, ahead of his inauguration as most powerful man in the western world, US President-Elect Donald Deejay Trump! DJT: Thank you Mr Rols. Aint you glad you didn't sign Alec Baldwin now. Who better to crown a winner to than me. And I can tell you, I've grabbed a few winning pussies in my time. And it's great to be here to support GamesBids and build walls with Mr Castro. Vlad was just telling me the other day that Cuba's not that bad a spot and i gotta agree with him now. It'd make a great new State. But I get ahead of myself, I'm here to crown a winner instead of that loser Mr Bach or that crook Hillary. That's what I'm great at. And I think it all gives you all great pleasure and honour to be here to hear me declare that Miss Universe 2017 is... errr... the winner of the 10th Annual GamesBids Logo Competition is..... Mr Daveypodmore with Havana 2032! Sir Rols: Thank you Mr President-Elect. We hope you'll grace us at future logo comp announcements. And congratulations to Davey. For the record, the voting was 10 to four in favour of your Havana logo. About time you've made it to another win in the comps. I'm surprised it's taken so long. You now join the list of our multiple award winners like Demetrius, DannyelBrazil, aismanggo... and Paul. Also again, congratulations to Paul for taking out the Winners' Cup last month, and following that up with your Kathmandu win. I think all our winners this year were very fitting. And that's it for this year. Again, thanks to everyone who got involved an a big thanks to Yoshi for your moral support and advice. All that's left now is to say Hasta La Vista, invite you all to have a taco in memory and tribute to TeamBlakeUSA and let's all let our hair down and mambo!

So there's one last act left to play out, and it comes down to Davey versus Davey! Round three of the Hamburg vote ended with a decisive result. With 12 votes cast, we had Davey's logo A come in comfortably with eight votes against Scotguy's Logo B with Four. I was actually quite pleased that Scotty made it this far - I know he's been a bit discouraged with the comps in the past. Maybe he didn't make the big final, but I was pleased to see him fighting to the end here. Good one mate! And great sportsmanship with your vote in the end. Well done! And a big congratulations to Davey - finally cracked it through for a second logo win. Well deserved, whichever one comes through in the end. Which leaves us with one last vote to see which Davey logo makes the Roll of Honour. Simple rules: This voting round will be open for (approximately) 24 hours - it will close after 7am, Monday January 9, Sydney time (8pm Jan 8 GMT). At the end of voting the entry with the majority will be declared the winner of the Summer Section of the 10th Annual GamesBids Olympic Logo Comp and the winning city the Olympic host for 2032. Vote in the poll for your favourite logo. You have ONE vote, so make it count. Your votes are public and can be seen by all. The entrant, Davey, may vote for which of the two is his favourite. Votes are valid if cast by members of GamesBids as of December 1 2016 with a bona fide posting record. I will rule on the validity of any suspicious or disputed votes, or who constitutes a bona fide voting member. I will only vote if a tie-breaker vote is needed. Now, this would be, I won't say an easy one, but not a painful decision to have to make Be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun and the entrants all deserve RESPECT. The ship docks in Havana harbour tomorrow, so enjoy your last night on the cruise and be ready for the official Ceremonie d'Annonce tomorrow. If there's one act left to play in the voting, I have one last act left to carry out in the comp. Enjoy the last stage of the ride!

And so we reach a penultimate showdown. Thanks to everyone who voted in the previous round. Watching the thread over the past 24 hours, I observed the lead change numerous times. Certainly the closest round we've had so far this year in the comp votes. I'm sure it was a tense one for the entrants. I went to bed really torn about what I would do if there was a tie for last - maybe kept the poll open until I wouldn't need to decide. But today dawned with a clearer field. So, unfortunately, we have to lose one of them. Official results from Round 2, with 14 valid votes cast, were: Logo A (Davey) 6 Votes; Logo B (Glacib) 3 Votes; and Logo C (Scotguy) 5 Votes. Which means we lose Glacib's. Really very sorry for you Glacib - a really good entry that I could have seen move on to challenge for the big prize. Thanks for entering - I hope we see you in future comps. Which means we have a showdown between Davey and Scotguy for the Hamburg crown, and to book a spot to face up against the winning Havana logo in the final. So here we go with the rules: This voting round will be open for (approximately) 24 hours - it will close after 7am, Sunday January 8, Sydney time (8pm Jan 7 GMT). At the end of voting the entry with the majority will be declared the winner. The winner of this round will go on to face the winner of the Havana rounds in a final poll to declare the overall winner and Olympic host for 2032. Vote in the poll for your favourite logo. You have ONE vote, so make it count. Your votes are public and can be seen by all. Entrants MAY vote for their own logo if they wish. Votes are valid if cast by members of GamesBids as of December 1 2016 with a bona fide posting record. I will rule on the validity of any suspicious or disputed votes, or who constitutes a bona fide voting member. I will only vote if a tie-breaker vote is needed. Be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun and the entrants all deserve RESPECT. That's it. Good luck to both Davey and Scotguy - you both deserve to be here.

Welcome back everyone to Round 2 of voting for the 2032 Summer Games Logo of the 10th Annual GamesBids Olympic Logo Comp. First of all, the events of Round 1. And the big news there was the single round victory of Daveypodmore in the Havana section. Congratulations Davey! Well done. Which means we say Adios to Glacib's, JO2024's and Paul's Havana entries . Results were, with 14 votes all valid: Logo A (Glacib) 3 votes; Logo B (JO2024) 2 Votes; and Logo C (Davey) 9 votes. Davey's, with 64.29 per cent, is automatic winner. The big shock to me was Paul's bowing out with no votes! I really picked it as one of the strongest contenders. As usual, his usual support materials were excellent. I sure didn't see this result coming for his Havana logo. And, I'm sad to say, it means the clean sweep for this year is now out of his reach. Still, I guess the Logo Winners' Cup and the Kathmandu prizes make up a bit for that. And so on to Hamburg. When I went to bed last night, it looked like Davey could scoop the pool in both sections in one round. But those pesky Hamburgers are keeping him honest. As it stands in the cold light or morning (or not so cold in Sydney), the results were: Logo A (Davey) 6 votes; Logo B (Glacib) 2 votes; Logo C (Scotguy) 5 votes; and Logo D (JMarkSnow2012) 1 Vote. JHMarkSnow's Hamburg referendum finger is therefore eliminated and with no other polling more than 50 per cent, we move onto a second round for Hamburg. Not to offend you, JMark, but I'm a little relieved - I thought yours was capable of being the Donald Trump of logo entries. I'm a little surprised a "humour" logo hasn't cracked through to win to date. But thanks for entering and being a good sport. So, to restate rules: This voting round will be open for (approximately) 24 hours - it will close after 7am, Saturday January 7, Sydney time (8pm Jan 6 GMT). Voting in this section will now be conducted in rounds until one entry has an absolute majority and is declared the winner. The winner of the Hamburg rounds will go on to face the winner of the Havana rounds in a final poll to declare the overall winner and Olympic host for 2032. In this and following rounds, the logo in each section with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated at the close of the poll. Vote in the poll for your favourite logo. You have ONE vote in each section, so make it count. I will not vote in this, or any subsequent rounds. If a tie-breaker vote is needed, I will cast the tie-breaking vote. Be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun and the entrants all deserve RESPECT. So who's gonna face off against Davey's Havana in the final? Get voting to decide!

Sorry Martin, I know it's not to your tastes, but it had to be... Guten Abend meine Damen und Herren, Willkommen zu Hamburg! We;re here tonight to start our our voyage on a slow boat to Havana to decode on the winner of this year's Summer Games section of the logo comp. We've got a field of eight starters for this section - four for Havana and four for Hamburg. So we're gonna have a slight change in proceedings from the usual for this part of the comp. I've divided the logos up into two groups for each individual city. These two groups will be voted on in concurrent polls, using standard IOC voting (see below). When we get to having a single logo each representing the two cities, those two will then face off against each other in a final round to determine the overall winner, and which city will hoist the 2032 Summer Olympic Games. This will ensure voting will go on for more than a single round and also give us an unpredictable final with two logos that haven't faced up each other yet. Davey and Glacib both have logos in each section, so it is possible they may dominate the final. Or JO2024, Paul, Scotguy or JMarkSnow0212 may crash their party. That's for you the voters to decide. Anyway, let's get it going. Here's the rules: This voting round will be open for (approximately) 24 hours - it will close after 7am, Friday January 6, Sydney time (8pm Jan 5 GMT). I may keep it open longer to the Saturday if voting's slow, or in the hope Krow will do his call of the card. Voting in both sections will now be conducted in rounds until one entry has an absolute majority and is declared the winner. In this and following rounds, the logo in each section with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated at the close of the poll. Vote in the poll for your favourite logo. You have ONE vote in each section, so make it count. I will not vote in this, or any subsequent rounds. If a tie-breaker vote is needed, I will cast the tie-breaking vote. Be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun and the entrants all deserve RESPECT. That's about it then. I'll make any other calls I need to on the fly. Thanks to all our entrants - Viel Gluck to you all and may the best designer win. See you in Havana!

And so we have an all-time winner! It'll be no surprise to anyone who's been following the results of the poll, but I'll have to hand the mike to Thomas Bach whose been keen to make the results announcement. I'll tell you we had 20 votes - the best show-up in all the rounds of the Cup, but Thomas can explain the breakdown. Thomas Bach: Willkommen meine Damen und Herren. It ist viss great pleasure zat I komm to you today to crown der all-time vinner off der GamesBids logo competitions. I sank you, all der voters, fur giving your consideration to all our entrants, who represented der best off der best off der logos zat vere submitted to der logo komps over der past 10 years. Congratulations to all der entrants - you vere all vinners to even make it zu der final. But der kann only be der one vinner to rule over zem all, und zat vinner ist... Paul, mit Buenos Aires 2028! Sir Rols; Thank you Herr Bach. Yes, back to me, it's easier than typing as the Bachmeister with the spellcheck on. What can I say? Thanks to everyone who voted. I hope it was a good Xmas time diversion for the board. Thanks to @TeamBlakeUSA for helping to promote the poll - keep up the good work for the coming original logo comps. The voting was decisive (though thanks for not forcing me to make a final choice). A total of 20 votes, all valid, with a final tally of 13 to Paul and 7 to Davey. I'm always sad when I've got to declare a loser in a vote, and as I said at the start of voting, Davey's paris would have certainly made a worthy overall winner. Real sincere commiserations Davey. That said, it certainly WAS fitting for Paul to come out on top. He's the legend of the comps, he's always a fan favourite and BA was nothing if not a fan favourite. Congratulations Paul! That was deserved, well-earned, a fair result and totally, totally fitting. You are the official King of the Logo Comps in its first decade. Who else could have deserved that title. I'll hand over to Madge to celebrate! So that brings us to the end of this little diversion on the road to this year's original logo comp. I hereby call on all the members of GamesBids to assemble in something over four days time in the city of Kathmandu, Nepal, to celebrate the Logo Comp of the 10th GamesBidiad. There's still time to get some late logos in. C'mon guys, get your pencils, payments, crayons and Photoshops out and give it a go! Kathmandu, Havana and Hamburg are waiting.

And so it comes down to two... Welcome to the Final of the GamesBids Olympic Logo Winners' Cup! And we couldn't have two more worthy logos or members to fight it out for the prize. But first, results. Both semi finals garnered 18 votes. I am discounting the4 votes of the new member dnm, who I mentioned at the end of the quarter finals and who didn't meet the voting criteria. Happily, his votes in each didn't change the results. So, with 17 valid votes cast in each, both semi finals ended with the exact same result (which augurs well, or ominously, for the Final. In Semi Final 1 Paul's Buenos Aires achieved an 11-6 victory over aismanggo's Toronto. That leaves Paul the final man standing in his three match-ups with the Malaysian twin. Commiserations to aismanggo, I'm glad he made it to the semis, but I also think it was fitting that Paul make it through to the final. It would have been stung if he didn't. My only surprise is that it wasn't with his Tokyo or NYC logos. But my record of predicting the winners isn't great. In Semi Final 2, Davey's Paris scored an 11-6 victory over Woohooitsme83's Oslo. Again, commiserations to Woohoo - you didi so well to make it to the semis. Again, however, I think it was fitting for Davey to make it through to that group. Which leaves us with another of the great Logo Comp rivalries to finally settle. Paul versus Davey. Buenos Aires versus Paris. Tantalising! Mouth-watering! Deserved! The Battle of the Giants! What more superlatives can I give. This is one for the ages and one i have absolutely no inkling which way it will go. I wouldn't be surprised at a VERY close result. I just hope I don't have to be the penalty taker at the end. Please don't force that on to me. Anyway, to the rules: It's one vote per person. Voting is open to all members of GamesBids as of November 30 2016. You have around a week to vote - voting in this stage I think will be open until Wednesday December 28. That will give us a tense battle to watch over Christmas, and a few days to recover from it before we launch into this year's original logo comp in the New Year. If there is a tie between the two finalists, I will take the casting vote/penalty kick. I will not vote in the regular voting time. I don't wish for this to happen - I tell you now, I'll be bloody torn and I don't know which way I would go at this stage. I'll rule on any disputed voters. I'll rule on any disputes. You can vote for yourself if you want to. Who's gonna win and be the designer of the One Logo to Rule Them All? We'll know next week. I'd say "May the Best Designer and Logo Win", but honestly, both are deserving. And one last thing - if you're looking at these and inspired - please get out your graphics packages and make sure you're in this year's comp. We're after more Kathmandu, Hamburg and Havana designs to decide this year's winner. We're just over a week away from the end of the submission stage and we've already got some great ones there. Let's get some more. Go to this thread to enter!

Welcome back everyone. Now it's time for the Semi Finals of the GamesBids Olympic Logo Winners' Cup! It's getting tense - four logos left standing, and four designers still alive in the race for the big prize. Thanks for everyone that voted. We had 18 votes in each of the Quarter Finals, and each quarter final produced a clear result - thankfully i didn't have to take any penalty kicks this time around. I had my doubts about one voter - dnm - a new member who joined up last Friday and hasn't posted anything else but voted in all four QFs. His votes did not change the outcome in any of the matches, however. For the time being I won't make any ruling on him, but I'll wait and see what transpires in the Semis. For the Quarter Finals the results were: QF1: Toronto with 10 votes to Tokyo's 8. Two very strong entrants, and I was surprised to see Tokyo bow out - IMO one of the strongest logos ever submitted to these comps and personally one I find better than the real life Tokyo 2020 logo. But then again, Toronto's was strong too. At this stage, it's a pity when any of them go. QF2: Paris with 10 votes wins over Prague with 8. The battle of Britain was decided in favour of Davey. Sorry to see Prague go - it was the original and inaugural Logo comp winner and it was great to see it featuring so strongly still all this way down the track. Sorry and thanks Rob. Again, though, Paris is a strong logo - it still shows up in Google searches on Olympic and Paris logos. No surprise it's still contending. QF3: Buenos Aires 11 votes over Melbourne with 7. The second Paul versus aismanggo match-up ends with Paul's Buenos Aires taking the prize. That makes each of them one apiece from the QFs. It also means that while our oldest logo winner was eliminated, our most recent winner is still alive. Well done paul - to tell the truth, it would not have been fitting if you didn't make it through to the semis. Indeed, I'm surprised just the one of your got through. While I'm delighted we have four different competitors filling the four semi final spots, it also would have been fair if you accounted for all. But that's the fun of the knock-out format - you get some interesting and unexpected results. QF4: Oslo's 12 votes shuts out Dubai's 6. Woohooitsme83 wins his battle with Barrack. The good thing about this is that means all four semi finalists are still active members of the board (I haven't seen Barrack for ages, tried to contact him, not even sure if he's aware of this comp). Which sets us up with: Semi Final 1: The winner of QF1 (Toronto) takes on the winner of QF3 (Buenos Aires). Which gives us the third and final of the great Paul versus aismanggo rival matches. They've had so many battles over the years, fitting they also come up against each other again here. Who'll win? We'll see. Good luck to both! Semi Final 2: The winner of QF2 takes on the Winner of QF4. Davey's Paris versus Woohooitsme83's Oslo. Two strong logos. Again, each member having got through with their only win from the past comps. Good luck guys! Whatever the results of either match, we'll have a multiple winner versus a one-off winner in the final. Okay, rules: It's one vote per person, per Semi Final. You can vote in a both matches, or only one, as you wish. Voting is open to all members of gamesBids as of November 30 2016. You have a week to vote - voting in this stage is open until Wednesday December 21. The winning logo in each Semi at the close will progress to the Grand Final, which will be voted on over Christmas Week. If there is a tie between any 2 logos in any match, I reserve a casting vote/penalty kick. I will not vote in the regular voting time, & if I do need to use a casting vote, I will base it first on my own subjective opinion. I'll rule on any disputed voters. I'll rule on any dispute. You can vote for yourself if you want to. Who's gonna win out to battle for which is the One Logo to Rule Them All? We'll know not week. And one last thing - if you're looking at these and inspired - please get out your graphics packages and make sure you're in this year's comp. We're after more Kathmandu, Hamburg and Havana designs to decide this year's winner. We're less than half way through the submission stage and we'v already got some great ones there. Let's get some more. Go to this thread to enter!
