With less than a week to go until the end of the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and the Closing Ceremony, I thought it would be nice to start this topic so that there is no hassle in creating a topic after Closing Ceremony is done and also the fact that I feel as though I need to contribute something to the forums. What do you guys think of the Closing Ceremony?

Supposed i should make a thread about it since the Olympic village apparently opened its doors yesterday. 500 athletes have already moved in. It should be added there are two Olympic Villages. One for the snow athletes in Pyeongchang and another one in Gangneung for the ice athletes.

We're just about halfway the games, but we already have some estimates of how much Pyeongchang 2018 has costed. $12.9 billion dollars. Still a farcry to the infamous $50 billion of Sochi, and it's almost on pair with the $13.1 billion of Rio 2016. The most insulting thing was the PM saying "They weren't going to win anyway" as a justification. Even if that was the case, you just don't say that. It's a big shame the opportunities of many female athletes went into the trash due to this. I initially didn't understood why some conservatives in SK kept accusing Moon and his friends of being closeted North Korea sympathizers, but after this I think i'm starting to understand. This has also affected Moon Jae In reputation. His support has dropped 20 points since November after the whole drama with the Hockey team happened. What's the opinion of the rest of GB about this new drama happening around these games?

Hello everyone, I've been locked out of my old Gamesbid account so I had to start over with a new name. And thank you in advance to anyone who has suggestions. As we have feared, getting accommodations are extremely difficult for these games. Travel sites have just now opened the dates for the games and there are so few hotels and most say they are already sold out. I've looked at Airbnb and few places are actually close to the two clusters and some are charging thousands a night. I've tried to use Google Maps to no avail- there is little public transportation that comes up. In the transportation thread it was stated that the train to and from Seoul would be $45 USD and there is just no financial way that's a good idea for staying in Seoul the whole time. Has ANYONE been able to get accommodations? If so how did you find them? Side note: I know there are at least 4 new hotels to be built but I can't even find their names to look into booking. Has anyone seen info about this as well?

Hi all, we are new here to the Games Bids forums, although we have visited the website for news in the past. I wanted to help some people with transport information seeing it is not readily available. We have been to PyeongChang a few times, and transport was one of our biggest worries. KTX from Incheon will run 16 times a day, 10 carriages, 2 are drivers compartments, 8 for passengers on which at least 2 will be for accredited persons (athletes, media, officials). Each carriage carries 45 passengers and tickets will go on sale in December via Korean Rails website for around Won 50,000 (US$45) each way. The only issue is accredited persons take priority so with some schedules or flights arriving, some trains will have more than the 2 carriages reserved. KTX from Seoul will run 35 times a day, 10 carriages, 2 are drivers compartments, 8 for passengers on which at least 1 will be for accredited persons. Journey time is around 2 hours. PyeongChang 2018 are reviewing the schedule but because the KTX is a separate company, they need to work directly with them on their transport plan. Public Transport plans will be released in December including the network of buses they will use in the province to move everyone. The actual main transport hub is not in Alpensia, but in Jinbu, so those from the coastal zone will need to travel further and then back track to any venues in Alpensia.
